Re: What's your Madden 22 hype level?

About the same as the past decade or so. I'm 41, and have been playing Madden since the very beginning. I know to ignore the marketing and buzzwords by now, and expect the exact same experience. Especially as a Franchise player. But I do really enjoy the gameplay and am excited to jump in with the PS5. I also really love making draft classes, so I'm not really excited but I'm getting prepared for my draft classes. Knowing exactly what I'm going to get of course.

I may get it. It sounds like an improvement. I have a ps4 so feel last generation will miss out on cool new features. I just need to get a ps5 before the new ncaa game returns in summer 2023. That's the one sport game I really enjoy to the point of playing long term.

It will likely have a good dynasty mode and good atmosphere and college feel to it, but on the field it will still feel like EA football and Madden.
IMO NCAA has always been more exciting to play than Madden both on and off the field.

The atmosphere especially with the custom sounds you could install was awesome.

I agree it might be built from the same engine but NCAA just always seemed to have that longevity that Madden lacked. Seems like over the past decade I'd lose interest in Madden after 2-3 months.

That typically happens when playing the game.....

Now CPU vs CPU gameplay I can actually stay focused a little longer in that mode.

Having said that I'm a little more excited for Madden 22 than I was in previous years.

I'm hoping beyond hope that they use College Football as a chance to try some things that Madden either can't (or is unwilling) to do in a one-year development cycle. If something works, they can incorporate it into Madden. If it's a bust, they always have Madden's foundation as a safety net. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed they realize they have an opportunity to try something fresh for both football franchises. But deep down I know you're right. It'll be the same on-field junk gameplay, just slightly tuned junk.

Hopefully they kill it with dynasty mode and I can have a good time without having to ever actually play a game. But with EA's recent track record with Madden, blindly assuming they're going make a franchise-like mode that's deep, fun, and engaging is being pretty naive, in my opinion. I really hope they make a fantastic dynasty mode (an awesome online dynasty mode would be even better), but I'll believe it when I see it.

Me being hyped went away when midnight releases became a bygone.

I’m getting on Aug 16, then will immediately start on my rosters, which means disappearing from OS for a while.

I’m hyped but kinda sad because I’m still on Xbox One.

Will it still be worth it to buy? I know a lot of the updates are available on the PS5/XSX.

Got a next gen system this past weekend and have been impressed with Madden 21 NG. So, I'm looking forward to 22. I won't put a number on it tho. Staying calm, cool and even keel.

Could honestly care less about Madden this year. I’ll be getting it so my GF and I can do some gaming but that’s about it.

11, double-dipping on PS5 and Series X day one. I have friends on both ecosystems. Plus I have saved so much money by not buying NCAA every year since 2013.
