You do but if you don't care about the old system, you don't have to.

I started a franchise I am going to play all season long using the old system. Though stale, I am good with it. The draft light bug and score bug are fixed, and that is what was important to me.

I was simply saying that we are not forced to restart to enjoy our franchise. We are if we want the scouting patch, but as I said, I am good starting now and using the new. If I want to try the old, I will start a second franchise. I do anyway around December so if scouting comes out in September or November, I am good.

Point too is that the game is not unplayable with the old scouting. I will say stale, but not unplayable.

On top of that, there is a chance that the new scouting system itself is either terrible (I doubt that, the current one is pretty boring) or broken upon release.

That's what I'm going to struggle with once the Week 1 rosters come out - do I wait to start my franchise (that I'm really jones'ing to play) for the scouting update, but have regrets if that update is busted upon release?

Actually, that's another reason to start franchise NOW - I'm guessing that once the scouting update comes out, we can't go back to the old version? Meaning if you wait to start a franchise and the new system is broken, you may not be able to start a franchise that is playable really at all - whereas if you start and play one in advance, if the scouting system is broken, at least you have an ongoing franchise that doesn't have the busted system that you can keep running with.

That’s what I was going to say. Why not just start in the meantime? Maybe some may not like the new scouting?
I’ll start now and see at that time what I will do going forward.

My biggest problem with Madden is going to be finding time to even play. I watch so many shows and weekends forget it once football season starts. I may just have to go with Play the Moments just to squeeze in some playing time.

Some things I have noticed since yesterday's patch:


1.) I'm getting more penalties, and a variety of different types of penalties.
2.) Offline Franchise mode, I get the infinite Madden Logo loop screen after finishing a game and trying to get back to Franchise menu. Can't get past it, keep losing progress every time. This wasn't an issue before yesterday's patch. I started a new Franchise too yesterday, and still happening.
3.) Subs seem weird... I was getting starters showing up in 4th quarter of my pre-season game. Never happened before.


Regardless, not being able to advance passed a game in Franchise is absolutely, 100% game breaking. I can't play anymore


I guess I'll try a Cloud Franchise tonight.

The after playing a game and not being able to return to franchise hub was happening with Jets-Giants preseason game pre patch.

Not taking it out on you man….sorry.

It is just we all knew it was not coming till mid or late September at the earliest. And we have so many who find the need to sit and moan and groan.

Game is playable. And you could start a “test” franchise and have some fun playing as different teams you would never normally play as, test out things, try new playbooks, get used to the new momentum meter. Al lot things to enjoy while we wait.

I always looked at this forum as a place to gather and help each other enjoy sports games.

It still has those qualities but has also spiraled into a massive customer complaint department.

I agree we all should point out shortcomings, talk about how developers can improve their games etc.

But the manner of how some posters go about it has become exhausting.

That’s all.

So sorry for having a moment and it seemed like it was at your expense…know that it was not.

Dont worry it’s fine. I have already got a franchise going but I haven’t played any games yet.

I managed to dump both Matt Ryan and Dante Folwer for picks and Trey Lance.

I think I might just wait for the new scouting system before fully committing to playing the games but I’m really itching to get on it right now without waiting for a new patch.

Idk why it wasn’t in the gridiron notes, but they did add the Packers new throwback uniform, it’s listed under current alternate classic.IMG_0792.jpg

yes he is but no face photo but not sure if he has face scanned because i didn't play it very much due to some issues are not addressed for awhile now

Urban Meyers name is in the game but the guy on the sideline still is the Hunchback of Notre Dame unfortunately.

Is this loop console or generation specific or is it across the board on all platforms?

I doubt sim stats will get ever get fixed? Madden 19 and 21 the rushings stats for QB's never did get fixed and people were harping on it like 24/7.

There’s no point in starting a franchise when we will have to restart it when the new scouting update hits. That’s what I meant

And the waiting is on you. I’ve been vocal about my distaste for some of the issues this year, but this isn’t one.

They were upfront with us about the scouting update not being ready yet so that is on you.
