The mods are a lot....I mean a lot of hard work and the few extra steps are nothing compared to this. I can definitely see how a modder who put in 100s of hours can be put out a little by someone complaining that it takes a few extra steps to launch a game.
Yeah, I typed initially upon reading that and then it dawned on me to just let it go. Casual gamers have that mindset and don’t think of the people who provide these things. Definitely irritating when someone complains of the small inconveniences lol. Modding isn’t for everyone. It’s why I deleted the post and just was letting it go, people who feel that way will continue to feel that way and no need to waste my time explaining it otherwise. I won’t be commenting further on the matter, the community speaks for itself on how it works.

There are people on the Discord who will help walk you through it, and understand how daunting it can seem initially.

I made the move from console Madden to modded-PC Madden fully this year, and after getting it set up (yeah it takes an hour-ish to set up + maintenance, but it sets up endless hours of more realistic and immersive football gaming. What a trade off!) I haven't gone back to console, even though I've got an X1X and PC is based on last-gen Madden. PC w/ mods is still a far more rewarding experience, both in on field gameplay and various ways of approaching Franchise mode.

And this is where the reverse card is played of "I hope you don't see this as an attack." I didn't feel you attacked me, so I hoped you didn't feel likewise.

Now with all that said, I hope you don’t take it as an attack on you..
For the record, I run servers out of my basement for games, both on Windows and Linux. I've been in IT for 20 years. My posts weren't about my personal struggles. I had the game modded. But I also had friends struggle with it and become frustrated, so I saw the difference between someone who understands these processes (and finds it easy) and someone who typically just wants to load the game and play.

        Sorry my post frustrated you.

Yeah, I don't see any reason to throw your arms up and act like playing Modded Madden is difficult by any means. It's ridiculously easy and, if for some reason you just can't figure it out, there are tons of people on the discord to help you provided you don't act like a total idiot.

When one of your first complaints is "Why am I downloading FIFA Mod Manager? I thought I was playing the Madden!" it's pretty clear you're reaching for obtuse reasons to swipe down at the modding community. Which is a real shame given the countless, unimaginable hours they've devoted to improving a mediocre game in spades for a lot of people.

I had literally no experience with modding any video game prior to M20 but was able to understand and pick up how to do it very fast. To act like there's some huge learning curve is disingenuous. Approach it like how you would approach learning anything new (i.e. don't throw a tantrum the first time you screw up) and you'll get the hang of it in no time.

I don't know why people who "just want to load the game up and play" would be bothering with mods in the first place. That seems like the crowd that's a-ok with playing the base product that EA shoves out.
