I think it’s pretty obvious they don’t actually do much testing. It’s just the way a lot of the gaming industry operates. So many games release with obvious in your face issues that are easily discovered, or even in overall messy bug filled states (CyberPunk and Avengers). They were probably only aware of it days before release due to early access players reporting it.

People who buy on day 1, play the early free trial, pay extra for early access, etc, are the group really doing the testing. They aren’t investing extra resources to properly clean up a game before the community gets ahold of it, when they can just have you do it for free or even pay extra for the privilege, and then they fix it later.

Such is the sad reality. I don't even think the easy pre release and early access money makes them look at it closer. The beta was free hype for marketing.

If not mistaken, the real kind of testing "as users" has to be done at what would be called a quality house location and definitely off site because testing on "in house" servers will never give the same results. I swear that I've heard this before. It makes sense, anyway. They have their servers, powerful and long running and operating code (and likely only said code), but then the final product is rendered, sent out to be stored on other servers, etc. etc.

Dang. Free agency still a mess after simming a few seasons. Oh well.

Yeah, I've been testing this out along with seeing how much playbooks matter during simming. I notice the same thing. All 2022 rookies end up free agents, Nick Bosa was a free agent, I even edited some contracts to mimick the 5th year option and Franchise Tag but still seemed top draft picks would hit free agency.

Also seems logic is still bugged as the Rams at one point during my test had an aging Tom Brady, Matthew Stafford and Baker Mayfield as their QBs. All of which seemed based on overall where the AI would sign someone with a higher overall than someone on their roster currently.

Since there's so many complaints, i hope they fix the INT slider and leave the game the way it is alone. I need video proof that INTs are out of control and you guys aren't just throwing bad passes. Not to sound like a git gud guy. Im playing on all pro and just went 23/24, 209 yards, 3 TDs 0ints w Trevor Lawrence in week 1. Freestyle passing is a godsend for placing the ball where only your WR can catch it and avoiding INTs.

For those who want to keep the day one version of your game, transfer it over to an external HDD before you download the update in case this patch makes the game worse.

What exactly does this accomplish? Doesn’t matter if it’s external or internal hard drive, I’ll still get the prompt to download the update once I boot the game no?

EA has been neglecting sliders for the past decade, I would be surprised if this will be addressed at all via the slider functionality. They'll probably just dial the value of the int probability underneath the hood and not even touch the slider. Just my guess. I believe the catch slider is also busted.

Quick resume is broken also need fixing can’t get back into online play.

yeah i have to restart the game entirely to be able to connect sometimes.

i should have just done an offline franchise :s

How are those AI pick 6’s treating you? Not seeing that either, right?

23/24 - that’s pinpoint accuracy! Maybe try lowering the human accuracy or catch slider for a little more realism?

Spoiler - those sliders won’t work either. I don’t mean to be smug. Truly. But OSers using their voice to continuously cast doubt on folks who KNOW how the sliders historically work in this game is getting exhausting.

I wouldn't expect this update to fix anything that wasn't explicitly called out in the brief title update notes. Tiburon has said multiple times now that a more comprehensive title update is coming closer to the real-life NFL season kickoff, and this is not that update.

100% agree! Let the slider be effective if you want, but leave gameplay alone. Every INT I've thrown has been a throw into coverage, or while I was getting hit. And yes, I've had the CPU drop plenty of interceptions.
