Re: Madden NFL 23 Patch Available Today - Patch Notes
I'm willing to bet this is a licensing/likeness provision. The legends are not NFLPA, so their costs might be subsidized by MUT sales.Comment

Re: Title Update is Live for Xbox
This is where I'm at. And I am trying very hard not to be that person who just dumps on the game. Because I still love the animations and movement of players with momentum. I love the running game and how tackling generally feels.
So I'm watching where the patches go honestly. I'm just putting the game aside right now because I just don't want to play it and put more grievances in my head to the point that I just write it off completely. So for now, I'm back to FIFA 22 with an eye on FIFA 23. But I'm keeping an eye on Madden 23 because I really want to like it and I really think there's something there that can shine IF the issues are fixed.
Like how the ball gets tipped. It's like a feather out there, acting like ball from the early 2000s in a freeware game. It gets tipped and just floats forever, sometimes resting on someone's arm the entire time until another DB comes in and just grabs it (again, magnified because DBs are catching everything). But the ball shouldn't behave like that. You shouldn't see a tipped ball on a 50 yard throw just float in the air for another 10 yards and allow the DB to actually recover and intercept the ball after he tipped it and stumbled.NFL - Las Vegas Raiders

Re: Madden NFL 23 Patch Available Today - Patch Notes
Seems to be lots of replies about what should’ve been in the patch. What about the patch itself? Anyone played yet and notice any differences? That last bullet point “tuning and general stability?” could mean a multitude of things ranging from slider strength, smoothed out animations, etc. What’s the Oline locomotion bullet point, any difference in line play?Comment

Re: Title Update is Live for Xbox
Yeah it is. Had Hebert sign with the bengals and Jefferson sign with the bucs in mine. Damn shame. On top of that the dang disconnect bug that’s been in the game since last year in Online franchise.

Players that wouldn't hit FA have got to FA in Madden for the entire time I've been playing this game. Decades.
Cap management is exceptionally hard to put into an AI in this area.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 23 Patch Available Today - Patch Notes
I spoke on this in the interception thread. I personally think they are in a very tricky situation with the INT issue. I stated in that thread that my INTs had been cut dramatically using the new passing system. I think if they tone down the DBs reactions too much, with the new passing system the defense will be shredded especially with them tuning the pass blocking. I’m definitely on the side of them taking their time and finding a happy medium. I’m not trying to spam my theory at all but I’m really feeling it has legs to it and that’s probably why INTs weren’t addressed in this patch.I agree that it is a smart move by EA to bide their time on significant tuning updates - it has burned the community nearly every year when EA jumps the gun.
Tuning this runs a significant risk of making passing (regardless of passing style used) too easy. That's a FAR worse situation.
They need to give players a chance to, ya know, go into practice mode....
I tend to agree.
The slider not working could have been fixed, however.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 23 Patch Available Today - Patch Notes
there's a significant problem with the CPU throwing picks. all in all ... it is ruining franchise immersion imo, when every so often a game turns into a turnover festival. 8 picks in a game by both QB's and throw in fumbles which seem to be contagious within the game. Once you seen one fumble, you know there's going to be 2 or 3 or even 4 more before the end of the fourth qtr.
i would have thought the easiest thing in the world for tiburon to do, would be make the INT slider actually do its job and work.
and the INT slider is broken. How many of the other sliders are just there for show as well?
it's disheartening to see the patch come out and not really address anything substantial.Comment

Re: Title Update is Live for Xbox
Yup, we all just cannot read coverage and just throw bad passes every game. Damn, you got us. Got tips?
There's an interception problem not only for the user, but the CPU as well. These posts kill me, understand the complaints before making these types of posts. You sound exactly like a "git gud" guy.
Clint said that there is another Update coming out around the time of the start of the NFL season, hopefully something is done to help the CPU out.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: Title Update is Live for Xbox
AT the current moment I have:
1) The base game that dropped day 1 that was 46.1 GB. I downloaded that version while connected online. That's known as the 1.0.0.4 build of the game. This will be the build that I use for updated patches.
2) On my External SSD Expansion Card, I have the base game that I downloaded from the physical disc while offline and that was 41.5 GB. This is the 1.0.0.3 build of the game.
3) I also made a copy of #1 onto my USB Portable External HDD and have it put away.
As long as I'm offline, I can always play #2 (1.0.0.3) build without any patches while using updated rosters, Franchise edits etc. Also, if a patch ever comes along that completely changes the game for the worst, I can always go offline, copy the 1.0.0.4 build that I have on my portable HDD back to my internal storage and play that.
Long story short, I don't ever have to be stuck playing the current build should patches mess the game up if I don't want to. I'm an offline Franchise player anyway; so being online doesn't really matter to me. Right now I'm running a test Franchise and am switching between the 1.0.0.3 offline build and the 1.0.0.4 online build. Gonna assume todays update will be build 1.0.0.5.

For the guy wondering why we don't make better reads at QB...
Take a look at these two clips from the AI at QB. When this happens 3-4 times a game, it gets a little out of hand.

Re: Madden NFL 23 Patch Available Today - Patch Notes
If you read the forum as well as you can read coverages then you'd see the issue is with the interception slider not seeming to work and that is combining with some terrible CPU QB behavior leading to lots of interceptions by the CPU, not the user.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”
