They've really cleaned up QB throwing motions, especially on the run. The football is no longer coming off their hand at odd angles. Overall QB mechanics look vastly improved over M23.Comment

Those mini games are a BLAST!!! I found myself playing for longer than I expected lol. I’m partial to the RB challenges, trying to escape the defenders who activate as you go. I also like it because it helps to learn the nuances of player control. Oh, and playing as the WR battling to get open is great as well!Comment

Defense seems better.
Lighting remains stupidly static. By some miracle the sun never moves. This is so utterly annoying to me it may be the single issue that makes me not buy the game. I'm that serious about this. How utterly stupid is that? It's infuriating.

I've been trying for weeks to play this beta on PC ever since I got the code and I was finally able to get into a game yesterday(imo that anticheat program is not ready for primetime yet. Too many issues with it imo). A.I. and movement are much better imo in comparison to the PC version of 23'. Like someone said earlier the graphics don't appear to be a huge leap in comparison to 23' other than the body types initially imo. I know it's a beta but man it felt like the game was not even ready for beta release due to the constant slowdown, offline lag, and visual issues. PC development is probably harder as it needs to be able to run on all types of different setups. I doubt some of these issues exist on ps5/xsx. My time with the beta was shortlived due to the fact that whenever I try to launch the game now through the EA APP, I get a message telling me to "Please launch the game through the EA App or Origin" Huh???? That's what I'm doing. I will just have to wait for the 10 hour trial to make a final decision on this title.
Big positive: I primarily play in coach mode and I was pleasantly surprised when my CPU QB in coach mode (Burrow) took off scrambling a few times after he went through his progressions after I called a pass play. This NEVER happend in 23' unless you slow simmed. Your CPU opponent's QB would scramble at times but not YOUR QB when you called a pass play..Last edited by NINJAK2; 07-13-2023, 08:16 PM.EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Okay a little calmer. Still furious about what they've done to lighting. May not buy the game if there's no way to fix it. That said:
This game plays better than '23. There's a lot of subtle improvement. Missed passes by CPU that are just outside the outstreched hands of the WR, for example. Things like that.
As I said earlier, this version of the beta seems to have slightly improved defense. I am pleased with that. It looks like, slider-wise, all I'll have to change is reduce interceptions a bit (not too much), and reduce pass protection. After that, I think it plays like the NFL on defense.
Offensively, the game remains a lot better than '23. I was still able to do well running, but not as well as earlier, and it feels like, with the team I have, I was getting realistic stats and runs. Defensively, I was able to slow the run down, no longer allowing 10 yards per carry. It felt more like the NFL.
So, overall, the game play is a tremendous improvement over previous Maddens, and this build seems to have improved defense a bit.

I played All Madden, no slider adjustments. 12 minute quarters, 13 second clock acceleration.
But, I was the 49ers, so maybe that helped some. Beat the Raiders 24-21, but one touchdown was me blowing a coverage and another was me playing goal line defense when I shouldn't have. They got one TD, two field goals, and a two point conversion, other than the one touchdown in which I was safety and got greedy in the box and ended up getting torched deep.
I got three sacks, had about three or force broken up passes, and one interception with Deommodore Lenoir against Devante Adams (I undercut it and pressed triangle). I also dropped an interception with Mooney Ward. I threw two myself on the first two drives, but I was still getting used to playing Madden again, and threw no more interceptions after that.
I had two screens successfully run against me for about 8 yards, I shut down another one. I had one big run against me for about 12 yards, and otherwise shut that down.https://forums.operationsports.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2049813056Originally posted by Therebelyell626

Oh yeah. My usering probably helped defense. I was playing zones with safeties and linebackers near DeVante Adams, and cheating towards him, and on concepts like smash, I was playing deep and baiting the QB to throw short, running back down before then. Sometimes I messed up and left too early, allowing the out or corner, but sometimes I was able to rally and make the tackle. Player speed should be determined by the player's speed rating, player fatigue, whether or not the player has an injury, and the condition of the field/ playing surface. Nothing else.
Wish they'd never introduced a speed threshold slider.
One literally needs a degree from M.I.T to figure out all of these slider permutations. It's ridiculous.
