Re: Mattanite's Draft Class Strength Generator

so this essentially will give me a look into the future of the draft classes, instead of just a dice roll at the beginning of each year? and I adjust the class strength for each position in Madden for the season to match the sheet?

Is there anything in it that would, say have a Stud QB leave early, so the weak QB class in 2025 gets better and 26 gets weaker?

Yes, all 30 season draft class strengths are generated when you press the corresponding button. The main tab only shows the next 4 classes accurately, adding 8 further classes to see with a fog of war and the remaining 18 are hidden in another tab until you click the advance button (at which point, all set draft classes move forward one year and a "new" class appears at MS freshman). Yes, you then change the draft class strength settings for College Seniors prior to starting your next season (so in preseason). Yes, this method allows you to plan ahead for many seasons as you can see if there are strong or weak position classes coming up.

Sadly no, there is no function for varying the draft class strengths once the 30 seasons are generated - you would have to manually edit a draft class in the predraft week if you wanted to create narratives like this.

On a similar note, the volatility and skew settings need to be decided before the 30 seasons are generated and after that, everything is locked in. To change volatility or skew settings would then need to be regenerated for all 30 seasons. Which is a shame as the NFL naturally oscillates in them (think 90s runball with great OL, big FB and big LB vs 2020s passing small ball with fast LB, stud DE, no FB and OL are worse).

So it would just be a personal choice to mix in a player leaving early kind of scenario and make the corresponding change in the class as needed... makes sense

thanks for all of this... you're the best!!

I think this is the part I am not getting. We play in an online franchise and we wanted to implement this to spice things up, I see XP slider and regression age off to the right but changing those doesnt change the skew on the curves. I also don't see anywhere else on the tabs to change that. So far I took the file, and without changing anything I generated. Looking at the base values you have QB/K/P at poor. This would mean I would have to tune up the XP on them somehow to make up for this, or decrease regression and increase progresssion somehow. Either way could you clarify this for me or how I would approach that, besides just changing the QB from poor to average or something to skew it the other way.

Sorry, age is a leftover that shouldn't be there now as it doesn't work that way and xp for your own records but doesn't influence anything.

This is purely a draft class strength generator, not my xp multi tool which is half built but the companion app doesn't function for me for data exports.

Re: Mattanite's Draft Class Strength Generator

                Update 1.10 is attached now!

After using it several times I disliked the fact the randomness could create back to back very weak or very strong classes as these seriously impact each draft class and the league in general. So I've added a switch for an Oscillator so that if a position is one way in current season the next season it will swing more the other way. (see update notes).

I also added a draft class grading system so you can get an idea if its good, bad or average overall instead of getting distracted by the Very weak or very strong outcomes. This also allows you to plan ahead if its worth trading out or into the current or next draft more.

I've added Head Scout assessments for some immersion, they will comment on 5 position groups current class and next class so you can more easily interpret the ups and downs of each position group.
