Re: New Madden NFL 10 blog post - QB improvements
This was posted at the Inside EA Sports Blog, but I am not sure if you guys respond there:
If someone does a smart route on a slant and it moves from short/medium to a deep route (3rd & long), which accuracy rating takes precedence? Is the rating dependent on distance or route?
This looks really great and I look forward to seeing it in NCAA 10 as well. Keep up the good work.Last edited by cdj; 02-23-2009, 08:52 PM.Comment

# Have any ideas of other places we could possibly use layered blending that we may not have thought of?
Even if you reviewed those plays the calls would always stand. I wish i had a video but I never kept one.My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

) how will the animations work? If someone is scrambling outside the tackles and their throwing hand is facing forward (the end zone they are trying to score in). Now I see "O" receiver open and throw it to him. Will the QB just throw the ball like so or will he stop and throw?

The only thing that comes to mind Ian is when a Receiver catches a ball near a sideline and he begins the animation inbounds but is clearly out of bounds but the call is still a completion. Or if a Receiver is Inbounds but is called out.
Even if you reviewed those plays the calls would always stand. I wish i had a video but I never kept one.
same here
just happened to me last weekBummed that you're not on my ignore list yet?.....Don't worry, I'm sure you will be very soon.Comment

Re: New Madden NFL 10 blog post - QB improvements
i was watching the combine while the qbs were throwing and the commentators were talking about how quick a quarterback can get in and out of his drop affecting his effectivness. for example in mark sanchez's case they said he was a long strider with a long over the top motion. ( not saying thats a bad thing but back to the point) is it possible to implement signature drop styles for the qbs and bring back that gather step at the end of the drop i really miss that?Comment

Re: New Madden NFL 10 blog post - QB improvements
I had a real bad one against a top ranked madden player online. There was like 2 seconds left and I had a amazing pass in the corner of the Endzone to win but was called out and not reviewed. It was horrible because it was such a nice pass and could have been one of those special moments in Madden for me. Instead it left a really bad taste in my mouth. My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

Very impressive Ian. Looks tons more realistic. I've been impressed with EA lately. I'm gonna purchase Live 09 and NHL 08(LOL i'm getting used to hockey) this week. This looks like a purchase. And I did not purchase (enjoy) Madden this year for the first time."It's quite frightening to sing "Who's World Is This?" without proper enlightment"

Good Stuff. The tuning of the ball release based on the level of contact by the defender, along with the implementation of procedural awareness will change the Madden football dynamic considerably.
Ironically, players will eventually have to make the decision themselves to eat the ball(instead of being forced by the animations) and take more sacks, instead of tossing up a bunch of wounded geese, and getting picked over and over.
Hopefully layered blending will be used on defense as well, adding more reaching, and grasping actions, thus replacing all the suction elements.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment
