I don't think the Packer players should be looking at him. I picture Bigby (the one who's crossing the front) is sort of playing the tough guy and not looking at him to see if he's okay. At least I pictured that in my head so whether intentional or not I think it works. And the Bears players behind him are walking away from him so Procedural Awareness has no effect on them. It only turns their head directions and it only affects players on the field, not sidelines.

      Injury slider FTW.

Roster depth should be that much more important.

      Good show, Ian.

There is Procedural Awareness here. It's just that in this case there was a cheerleader on the far sideline who fell out of her top and THAT Procedural Awareness animation trumps all others.

Wow, awesome blog Ian & Crew. I look forward to the strategy aspect of the injuries, and having to contemplate what to do with your players.

...once again this owns the NCAA blog.

Wow, I'm truly impressed. I really enjoyed this blog. Great to hear about the player animations when hurt. I can't wait to see that running back animation! Great job Ian!

              Great blog!

with more realistic contracts being given out in free agency/ the draft, this is going to make depth even more important, and hopefully really make you make some tough decisions in the off season about which players to keep, and which players to try and bring in

              Andy is very impressed

I didn't know Madden was coming out on a Friday. NICE! I just requested it off. So midnight release, play all night and then have the weekend to play.

I loved the blog! Madden seems to be shaping up nicely.

how often do injuries happen in the nfl?

how often do they effect the game?

you really don't think this is a big part to the game?

Totally loved this. I am so glad to never see Bursitis again! But, that aside, love the option to choose whether player continues or not. Hopefully there will be some variety to injury duration. It always seems that they aren't severe or realistic enough. I want some career enders. But overall, I'm so stoked for this addition to my franchise. Good depth addition!

I think I'm starting to understand you guys now. ya'll are looking at this mainly from an offline franchise point of view. in that case, yes, it's a great improvement over a really busted injury system in previous franchise modes.. ok i got it. i was looking at it more of a game by game basis. injuries just didn't really affect me too much previously in one-off games. even if McNabb got hurt, I was able to do ok, not great, but ok, with his backups over the years. that was ok by me.

but I'm looking forward to the online franchise offerings that will be announced at E3. that's relatively more important for me.

take this in combination with all the other updates... can't wait for august

I hope they don't have the x-ray vision on the field again. I don't understand how they can talk about realism and then have the instant x-ray vision on the field. It's fake and it takes away from the suspense of finding out what the injury is. Just like it would be in real life.
