Balloon a little deflated right now. Not getting the Fifa09/2k5 feeling. Hoping that Ian was correct about this build being nothing like where they stand now. But will reserve much more critical judgement till post E3....

Agree... Wow just Wow.. I'm some what speechless, and not in a good way..

Let me start off by saying what I thought looked good.. Graphics where great! wow I was impressed by the improvement of the players body proportions. Looks much better. Only grip and it's huge for me, was that everyone had the same sock length!! It just doesn't look right. Ian did say, "What you see on Sundays, you will see in Madden 10" Right?? I see long SOCKS on sundays....? The presentation is looking very good and in the right direction. Some things need tweaking, but by all means much better then any previous madden as far as presentation goes. Well... that was unfortunately the only good things for me...

The bad, well..... It was just that, BAD... Where is all that NEW players animations and movement Ian was talking and showing vids about??? No real momentum or foot planting that I saw?? Where in the hell was WR vs CB gameplay animations?? Where??!! That was one of the main key areas Madden was suppose to improve on this year! I saw no bumps or battles or even touching of WR & CB's?? Wow, that was not good. Where was the the Dline vs Oline gameplay?? No real pockets. LBrulz hit it on the nail about the DE's not forming a real pocket and not engaging quick enough. I mean seriously not all pockets are perfect!! They need to have life and soul when it comes to oline vs Dline battles.. It looked to much like stand still animations but no penetration or rush from the dline! Why didm't at least one of the Dlineman penetrate the oline?? It looked like they where all scripted to do the same exact things?? Like the Dline was stuck in the animations with the oline?? Why don't' WR's run good clean crisp routes?? Why don't CB's run good routes with them?? 2k5 did... 4-5 years ago! Why are the running animations still looking so robotic and choppy?? 2 key areas that where top areas to be fixed this year in Madden 10 and they still are looking the same as 09?? Why? Gameplay should be the main focus and concern to the Madden team.. Nothing else! Build the Foundation first, before adding all the goodies and fluff(Pro-Tac, etc)..

While the Presentation looked good and added much of a football vibe, gameplay seemed boring.. Must bring Life & Soul to this game called Madden.. Must feel like your playing real football.. Keys to success for Madden in the future... As much as I want this game to succeed, I just don't know if EA can ever do it.. I do know one thing, my optimism is falling fast after that showcase of football.. wow...

It is amazing at how many people complain about the video. It is amazing. It looks way better than 09. Anybody that does not agree needs to see an eye dr.

I think the problem with a lot of people is that the game is called madden. If it was the same exact game but called 2k10 I think they would be a lot happier about it.

They can complain all they want. I could care less. I am buying this game for sure.

We knew for a long time that they had very little chance of making this years game.
You are probably one of those people that been whining about colored cleats for the past several years. Keep whining, sock length will get in the game eventually just like that cleats did.
If that is going to keep you from buying madden 10 then you truely have issues.

Amen brother! I couldn't agree more! No wonder this is the first year, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's the last, that they work together with the community.

No matter what game, how good the game is, people will bash it simply because it's EA. If people can't see any improvement in this video, well then I've lost all my faith in people altogether.

I'm a big NFL2k5 fan, and even I can see that the gameplay, presentation etc. are leaps and bounds better than anything EA has put out before.

The weather channel thing in the beginning was interesting shows that they were telling the truth about madden using weather from the real state.

OL Run
Wow the offensive line plays more like real life on the run play the offensive line let the the weakside backer by and double teamed the NT.

OL pass It does seem like they block a whole lot better if they are not engaged they will look for a blitz

Side notes at 1:13 pause it and it will say cowboys stadium capacity 80,000 nun speical just an interesting tidbit.

Cowboy players were clapping on the sidelines also fans cheering and acting a little more responsive

Also WTF with the time before the game it's 5 mins then during the game it goes to 5:34

Game looks loads better then 09....Presentation was great, can't wait to see more



but the Physics/Momentum have to get better.Wheres the proper foot planting?? There needs to be realistic acceleration/deceleration animations. Otherwise 180 spins and ultra fast roll outs will still bring the game down.


I won't get too critical of the pocket just yet, I'll wait to break down some E3 footage

Sorry if I took it the wrong way but they said a while back that the socks probably would not make it this year. I was just reacting to how surprised you seemed about it. Ian had said something about checking with the NFL because they have or had rules about sock length and they can not put something in the game that breaks the rules without the NFL's ok.

The more I watch the video, the more impressed I am. Almost everything in between plays has been skipped and I can't wait to see a full video to see what EA is trying to hide.

I really think Madden 10 will be awesome all the way! I thought Madden 11 will be the nfl 2k5 killer, but the more I see of Madden 10, the more I realise that this could finally be it!
