Ive heard it all lol.Now Im hearing Madden is a childs game......I bet there are triple the number of adults that enjoy Madden over any other football title ever created. There sales are not just from kids lol.

And no im pretty sure most of us older folks pretty much know how to play football and are not buying Madden to chuck bombs all day. (Which is funny that you mention that cause that just so happens to be the play that works the most in 2k5/APF2k8) so much to the fact that League's creat rules about using it.

And its not that the game is hard, it just doesnt feel right. Yeah it looks smooth and all when in replay mode (opposite of madden) But when you are actually controlling the players.......just dont feel right. IMO the controls in Madden feel better.

Just like tombsong said Madden just has tighter controls. You don't pay for mistakes in Madden as much as you do in the VC games. APF/2k5 makes sure you pay for mistakes. Madden is just a more lenient game. I will say Madden has always been the better "game". VC's game have always been the better football experience.

That's exactly what it is. It's the familiarity of Madden that people like and feel. It takes getting used to something new. Some people don't have the patience to appreciate all that VC's games bring. I've even been a victim of this. If you take the time to learn the game, the rewards totally outweigh the frustration.

That's why I don't understand why people come in and bash Madden 10 like it's supposed to be this totally new game. It will always have that familiar Madden look and feel.

If we date back to April when the very first trailer came out, this is what I feel was the issue. People expected something that resembled a football game never seen before...those people were a casualty of their own expectations.

It's also why people are always asking for a new 'engine'. When asked for detail, they can never describe what it is they're looking for. They just know the word engine and say it needs to be replaced.

Exactly. Which leads to believe and continue believing that most posters either don't know what they want, or want a VC football game.

The engine talk is just comical at this point. Half these posters have no idea what they are talking about, or what goes into making a football game. I don't care if you've had prior "programming" experience. Until you've made or helped make a video football game with the current technology you should keep your thought to yourself about "engines".

Alot of people want Madden to be what they "THINK" it should be, not what's best or feasible for everyone within the development cycle.

It doesn't take a firefighter to see that a house is burning down. The flaws in that video are so common and so obvious that it really doesn't matter who you are. Maybe we don't have the know-how to describe in detail on a coding level what needs to be changed, but it is coming across as extremely petty to discredit opinions for that reason.

If you want to talk about the business implications another engine would bring, that's one issue. Most of the people here rightfully don't care and just want to see a good game.

. trust me i know what i want from madden. i been playing madden for the longest and the franchise willingness to express football is non-existent. then when i turn on a different football game(APF 2k8) i see they put in the effort to expressed football as realistic as possible. i had the best times playing apf 2k8, hosted a 1000 games which is a record for me, i average 3 to 5 games when APF release online.

only time i played 3 to 5 games in madden was with my guys and you know the method the loser have to hand over the remote so they was consecutive games. offline and online(madden 06-09 is a disgrace to NFL football simulation
