Well two things. One it is a flawed demo. Two it is a Video Game. Personally I don't care. But I understand that many people do.. so I wont try to devalue this topic, because I realize I'm in a Madden video Game forum where some people actually do care about authenticity.

I love NFL 2k5, but it isn't even in the conversation with Madden 10. It had great presentation, but sim stats were out of whack if you cranked the quarters above 6 min. On default settings it wasn't uncommon to have a perfect pass bounce off a wide receivers hands, or the same thing happen to a DB in perfect position to intercept a pass. The out route worked every time! 2k5 was a great game in its time, but to keep bringing it up in Madden conversations is ridiculous.
As for the OP, I have the 1 min. quarter demo and I have never seen that kind of warping. Ian has come to the forums and blatantly stated they have tweaked things post demo. As far as I know they could still be tweaking things (though unlikely this late into development). The problem here is that people remember 2k5 as the perfect football game even though it had its flaws, and every Madden since has been held to a nostalgic standard rather than a reasonable one. Though the latest Maddens have disappointed, the work put in this year has gone a long way, and anyone thinking that 2k5 didn't have "glitch" moments is looking at that game through 2k tinted glasses. I think it's way past time for NFL 2k5 to receive proper burial as a standard for Madden.

to the past madden was bad not because of the glitches, but they dont simulate the NFL except for BIG HITS. 2k5 and 2k8 are consider the best because they simulate the NFL better than EA has with madden. the glitches and flaws means nothing IMO, they make the game worse due to quality but madden has the worst.

when i watch madden i dont nothing in comparison to real life except now throwing styles which is minimal improvement but when i play 2k5 and for surely 2k8 i can turn to NFL network and see the EXACT SAME behavior and what OS member is not realizing.

everybody saying glitches and morphing are in every game and its just a game and what not but the main problem with madden is that its not the NFL and it will never get out of 2k shadow until that happens

When you view a video about a problem isolated like this, standing alone it appears harmless. One of those I rarely see it happening things we can forgive.

Now what if this particular problem in the vid only happens once a quarter while playing, well no big deal.

Now combine this particular problem in this vid with all the other problems people are finding. Then lets say they only happen once a game. How many problems is that we are seeing per quarter and then combine all that to per game ?

Then combine that with the other game play issues. I see my team mate attempting to make a tackle. I run in to assist only to see my man have NO impact on the play, he just warps around the tackle like there is some force field around the guy we are trying to tackle. That happens alot.

Add that to the well it only happens a few times per game pile.

I like the feel of the game, and the game can be fun because after all it is a game. However when the sum of the "little" problems start to add up and start to effect your gameplay experience, at some point you get tired of it and have to shelve it.



When you are playing the game alone, the problems are not as apparent or agrivating. When you start playing online it can become very frustrating. The more I play NCAA online the more the games "little" faults are bringing the fun to an end.

I bring NCAA up because I see the same stuff happening in the Madden demo.

It bewilders me as to why people who claim, its just a game, and I dont take it that serious, and "I dont know why you make these vids" always seem to find their way into these threads, soak up the content then hijack the thread by making posts insulting the OP and talking about off topic things.

You knew this thread was gonna be about a problem with the game when you read the title. If you dont like these threads and "dont take the game that serious" Why are you "seriously" in this thread ?

When I see a Franchise thread or Jersey thread or shoe color thread, I dont go in them. I am not interested and I dont care about it so why go in their thread and berate them on why they are talking about it ?

If I want the NFL, I'll watch a game on TV or wait many years to get a ticket at Lambeau. If I want to play a football game that isn't perfect, but looks and plays like the NFL, I'll play 2k5, 2k8 or it looks like Madden 10.

Anyone ever see some of these madden critics ever say "ANYTHING" positive about the game? ..ever? That should tell you what they are about...you can verify this by looking at their POST HISTORY or visiting their YouTube channel lol

I dont have a problem with people being a constructive critics..as long as they see both the good and bad in the game..some of these guys like a few video making enthusiasts and constant whinners have YET to show off one positive video or positive post lol isnt that ironic? So in other words they see absolutely NOTHING good about the game...go figure

Actually "Apex the Banned" did give some cudos to the new Madden where warrented, however his main points were to point out the lack of physics applied to next gen Madden, including the Madden 10 demo. I thinkwe all hope for this game to be fun and to resemble what we see on Sunday. I myself don't expect much, my bar has been lowered over the years as EA and their exclusive license has killed sim NFL football to date. NCAA finally didn't get my money this year...thank god.

You don't know and understand the personal reasons why I play Madden each year. I've explained it before you came over. I don't feel the need to explain it again.

As far as the low standards question, if you can't tell that 10 is much better than 09, than I don't know what to tell you.

I was pretty harsh on Madden 08 and 09. I'm really looking forward to 10.

yeah i agree with apex. the passing is alot better from 09 and it does resembles simulation in that aspect except for guys tripping and falling and still being able to catch the ball but like apex said that just bad physics. madden key problem they put simulation in certain areas and thus making madden football very inconsistent. you see physics but its not shown everywhere. you see good run blocking but its not shown consistently, you see good man coverage and then u see DB knowing the before the WR does, etc.... AND THEN on top of that you have bad morphing and clipping so that multiplies times two

madden 10 look great but once that eye candy get used up, the true colors of 10 will be open itself and sadly i dont think 10 will shut the 2k talk up and people will be begging for 11(the same cycle madden been doing since its next gen arrival).

IMO when madden simulates the NFL accurately and consistently is the last madden before the contract expires.

like i said many times in the forums, im not wowed by shining helmets and hand towels, and madden 10 biggest improvement involved around presentation(you cant lie and say that it isnt) even tho im still heated that they allow ghost ref but anyways im a gameplay freak and there is only one improvement in relation to the NFL and thats passing from the demo POV

blocking still sucks, WR/DB is suspect, special teams hasnt been worked on in god knows how long, im holding judgement on the pass rush but from the demo its TRASH, run defense is wack cause basically EA just put a magnet on the RB and everybody swarms to him, zone coverage is suspect and man coverage is suspect

i get yardage too but i have the one minute demo. see you just assume too

i made a thread earlier and i said that it seems madden players just seem to care about the end results and dont really care how? i can how and how i got those yardage is not related to the NFL
