I entered this thread knowing that some of the same people would post in this thread about Madden 10's physics being off based on the demo build and often comparing it to the 2k games stating that their 60 bucks would be wasted on a game not up to 2k's quality keeping in mind that the OP (a veteran 2k gamer) made a valid point and asked for an explanation as to why a problem occurred, while also stating that he already pre-ordered Madden 10 and appreciates the Madden team's efforts. The expected happened in this thread. The guys subscribed to Apex's and RMoody's videos as well as those that haven't played the demo yet are stating their displeasure with the Madden 10 demo build physics while the neutral people are trying to battle it out with them as to why they are wrong. One side says that the other is agenda-driven (which may be true) and the other side says that the other is in the matrix. Let me be honest, many of us here were once disappointed with the direction that Madden was going in the last few years, but it is very hard not to embrace what Madden is doing this year and possibly for the future. Next-gen Maddens had a bumpy road full of money plays, glitches, cheese, etc, but now it seems like that is starting to clear up (at least to me). The final build of Madden NFL 10 may have a few glitches or hiccups here and there, but I enjoyed last-gen Maddens despite some of the same problems. I watched an Apex video on YouTube the other night and it was about the "morph song", but I wondered to myself how he could say that Madden 2004 was one of the best Maddens ever, yet it still had those very same problems just as well as nearly any other sports video game. My point is that if something such as the problem that the OP stated occurs in the game frequently, then it may be a problem, although I have yet to see that myself. I hope problems like this is addressed as much as the next guy even though it may or may not be present in the final build, we still have to look beyond some of these issues and ask ourselves if the game is enjoyable and playable for an entire year because we can never expect any game to be perfect, and ESPN NFL 2k5 as well as All-Pro Football 2k8 definitely wasn't.
Please explain what is going on in this Demo video???

No disrespect...but seriously dude, is it that hard to hit Enter a few times and make a few separate paragraphs?
Those walls of text are just terrible to try to read.
For the most part though, I agree with you.
The one thing I really cannot stand about these forums is how neither side can coexist. I dont know if its immaturity or just narrow mindedness, but it seems you cant be optimistic without being a fanboy and you cant criticize the game without being a *****.
I crucified that last few Maddens because of how bad they are, and the I said that the Madden 10 demo was alot of fun, and I got called a sheep. Gimme a break.
Anyone that is completely ignorant to the improvements this year obviously are narrow minded. No, the game isnt perfect, but if you expected it to be, you really dont have a strong grasp on reality. This game was a mess last year, and Im sure there will be some glitches and gameplay issues, but the improvements have been substansial enough for me to give EA a bunch of credit.
I still keep seeing that one guy who obviously IS a 2K fanboy (and dont say you arent, because I hardly post here and I can tell) bashing on Madden and saying all the improvements are merely cosmetic.
I dont get what people who dont like the game are bashing it so much. Its one thing to give your impressiions of game, but how empty does your life have to be to keep saying the same things over and over and over again?
I dont know how good Madden 2010 will be, but I do know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, it is much better than anything Ive seen in the last few years. Even if its not good enough for me to buy, it does give me high hopes for what is coming in the next few years with Ian at the helm.
Madden 2011 will be very crucial, not just for the series, but for the image of EA/Tiburon, and even Ian. If this years jump was just a fluke and Madden 2011 is just a roster update with not much else, then I will give up all hope for Madden ever being where it should be. BUT, if 2011 makes another massive leap, which it is capable of doing if EA keeps listneing and implementing what customers want, I think Madden will finally get where it should be.
But even if does get there, the fact is, 2K fanboys will still come in and say "Sniff sniff....2K is so much better than Madden. Im ignorant to all the huge faults 2K had, but its still better than anything EA will ever do EVER!!!!"Comment

Well said, unfortunately it will fall on deaf ears. The lines in the sand have been drawn and no matter what EA does the fans of the other game will not be swayed. I for one think Madden has been a poor effort since it's been on the next gen systems. I like the improvements I've seen thus far and I'm willing to wait until the game is released until I pass judgement.Comment

Re: Please explain what is going on in this Demo video???
The demo was better then 09 for sure. But I have had tons and tons of glitches. Can people not see this? To say this doesnt take away from the enjoyment of the game is crazy. What game has ever been made with glitches, and been over looked by people saying its just a video game? There all just video games, how is it we can build a good video game at all if glitches, bugs, etc arent a big deal? They would all be good games......This is the very thing that determines a great game! Its the one thing Ive never liked about Madden- Forget about a complete football game, just Give me a complete video game period! As I have mentioned, my hat goes off to the EA Devs this year. Great job and improvement, but there is so much more that needs done for my $60. Sure Ill follow Madden every year, and hope one day for a good game. I may even buy it this year after it goes for $30 used. But lets be real calling this game the best ever, its clearly not. Thats just hype(as usual)All games have flaws with AI, etc, but the glitches Ive seen in my own home are rediculous, and to assume there not going to be in the final build is crazy. Ive never made a video, and admitt people take them to far. Personally I just want a fun football game thats simular to the NFL. I have not got this from Madden. I feel its a game for 18 and under. Perfect for 12 year olds.Last edited by wheelman990; 08-01-2009, 08:10 PM.Comment

Oh really....it's opened ended because there is no way of answering it with facts. It's only his opinion/feeling of the final product. Even though he may respond with a one word answer it's based on opinion.Comment

Re: Please explain what is going on in this Demo video???
First off, they don't "need" a new NFL game every year. They "want" a new NFL game every year. They don't have to buy it and no ones forcing them to do so.
Second, EA has no responsibility to release a quality game. The only responsibility they have is to their shareholders. They just have to sell an "X" amount of units each year and that's exactly what they do. They don't owe you, or any of us anything..period.
So basically, it's like this. Do you or do you not like Madden? If you do, buy it and be happy. If you don't like it, then stay home and play last years game. By buying Madden 10, you have voted in favor of the product and did nothing but hurt your own cause.
I'm tired of seeing people whine and complain about something they support. If you don't buy the game because you're frustrated for whatever reason, then by all means go ahead and rip it apart but if you buy Madden (and this goes for APEX or anyone else who complain yearly) then you're a complete hypocrite and have ZERO credibility imo.
Many people need their football fix and do get enjoyment from Maddens. It may be for a week, month or longer but it's still worth buying it just for the football fun.
There are some flaws and it's only right that people state what they are, especially when they're playing a demo and making comments on a site that's read by EA Sports employees. Some of the Operation Sports suggestions from last summer/autumn have been included in Madden 10 so I see constructive comments/suggestions as a positive. Bugs being identified at demo stage should be highlighted and hopefully EA can address those issues.
Whilst your comments on EA's MO are correct (like every other business), EA do have a duty to support the football community as they hold the exclusive NFL license. I think Ian Cummings is making the right noises in that respect and I like the fact that he bothers to come on here, taking suggestions on board in the process.
I do agree with you about the people who hate EA indiscriminately and write abusive comments, that doesn't help anyone. I don't class apex or ryanmoody as abusive though, they're simply highlighting faults.Comment

I will say that it will be the best Madden on NG.
You haven't played the full game, but yet you want to categorize the demographics 12 days before it hits the street.
Even though Ian said there was some fine tuning the last 2-3 weeks on the demo.
If you say so.Comment

and we're supposed to believe everything a developer said without any actual gameplay footage of improvement?
What exactly has been fixed from the demo to the full game? Looking the NFL simulation season videos, I still see the same issues found in the demo.Comment

Re: Please explain what is going on in this Demo video???
People shouldn't wait for the full game to realize the same issues aren't address like they been doing for the past 3 years.
and we're supposed to believe everything a developer said without any actual gameplay footage of improvement?

People can become more credible and critical if they have played the game. They also can become more credible if they played the full game and declared it was good.
You must have some reservations about Ian's credibility.Comment
