I dont get how donnys roster updates are going to work. If im in year 3 and its only week 11 of the 2012 season are my rosters going to be reverted back? Will players ive upgraded that arent good irl be removed from my game roster if they cut irl?

@ billsmafia13 & brizz1744. Ok, I understand what your saying, as far as equipment & name changes goes. I'm all in favor for giving that ability to the user, but there should never be an option/ability to edit height & weight. I host a couple of leagues in NCAA Football every year. This year, EA inserted the ability for league users to, not only edit edit names & equipment, but the heights & weights...terrible! As the commissioner, I spent most of my time policing roster integrity instead of enjoying the league myself; it was not enjoyable...and when I did correct a user's roster, the game would reset them back once the league advanced to the next week.

I know I've said this before and I'll say it again. Just give the user the option to turn anything you can edit it on or off. If people have issues policing their online experience it should never affect offline IMO.

Name-Numbers: On/Off
Weight-Height: On/Off
Equipment: On/Off
Attributes: On/Off

You build this once and you never have to deal with it again and people have the flexibility to play the game anyway they chose.

I agree that would suck.

But overall I think the need for madden or NCAA to police cheesers and cheaters via gameplay tweaks or limiting customization options is the biggest reason why madden has not progressed this generation.

No in order to use the latest roster you will have to start over just like always

let me start off by saying i have been a madden fan ever since i could pick up the sticks also have stuck by it threw the bad and good threw the years where all they seemed to improve where updateing the rosters and changeing the starting menu to the good years like the introduction of franchise mode or one of my personal favorite years for madden (2005) the GLORIES HIT STICK became a madden players why to punish the other side the HIT STICK put exitement to play deffens and not just the want to play offens it turned some madden players into (HSH) and you know who you are im laughing right now . and there are other good years like the year after the hit stick there was the truckstick and there are other feautures that madden has given use over the years we came to love . but this comment,rant,whatever you may call it is not about the things that made me fall in love with madden but whats makeing me buy madden put it in my console play it for about three to four days and bring it back not even carrying that i paid 60fin$ plus TAX and get back 40 . i didt even buy madden 12 last year because 010 and 011. i didt think it was worth the disappointment and if i had ,it would of been from what iv herd what. was the new thing camera shots ? . remember this befor i go on i am not against madden i just wish it would go back to when every year they added greatness to the game and not things like that team play with the cards what ever you call it its just another way to get more money for EA . and now we get to the BIG reason i am writing this.... Probably should of seen this coming from EA, just another way they can control consumers.

They're playing with fire though. Roster editing isn't something only hardcore fans do. Casual fans like to create their 99 monster player and stick him at QB and dominate or they may want to add Barry Sanders to the Lions to see how deadly he would of been with a good Lions team. This would of been one of the last features I could of imagine being cut out. It is something nearly every customer probably spends some time messing with at some point.

I'm really disappointed in this news too. I was pumped for Madden. I was ready to play a football game this year. I thought I wouldn't after how poorly NCAA 12 was and how EA has pretty much took a dump on all their other products I buy from them (Mass Effect, Battlefield, Dragon Age, etc) then Madden 13 looked great at E3, but each day it gets worse and worse. Reminds me of pre-release of Mass Effect 3.

That's why all editing online (except maybe names #s and equipment)
Should be ONLY enabled for the commissioner I.e. League creator and available by petitioning them, offline user is commissioner in single player

Well this blows! I was really looking forward to Madden 13 with all the new additions but if I can't edit the rosters for offline play in CC mode then it's a deal breaker for me. I already canceled my pre-order.
