A few years back, a football game that had a lot of hype due to its physics engine was released and many were impressed by its engine (me included). The game had similar quirks caused by its physics engine that Madden has now but most agreed that the tackling and running game was miles better than what was in Madden at the time and that they would love to see Madden have a physics engine.

Fast forward to now, Madden 13 has the same quirks as that other physics football game released a few years back but yet some of the same ones that said that the game released a few years back was "amazing" (even though it had quirks caused by its physics engine) are now saying that madden 13 is "complete trash" due to it having similar quirks.

It's not surprising to me at all but I just find it to be funny.

Yeah in some of the games I played the CPU would constantly run the ball even though they were behind with a few minutes left in the game.

Hope it got (or gets) straightened out in the final game.

Yes another 60 bucks but the consumer or us are the only ones to blame for these games year after year having the same issues and never being fixed. If we just don't spend are money on them that's the only thing that is gonna ever send a message to EA, but that's never going to happen. I finally feel good about spending 60 bucks this year instead of doing it like a walking zombie to the store just to buy the same game i bought the last 2 years in a row.

On the flip side when that game released a few years ago there were a majority of people saying it was trash but now that madden has the same physics its oh em gee these physics are great.
At least that game from years ago gave its consumers editing options...limited but more than the new and improved madden.

The only way I've been able to get a decent rush is to use tuck or move jpp/smith to left end. If I'm going against the left tackle I either end up on the ground or stonewalled most of the time. Once in a while I can speed rush around, but if the LT engages it's over. Much like last year, if you use the right stick before you engage you will usually end up on the ground even if you are blocked by a tight end. I was pancaked with JPP vs Vernon Davis twice while experimenting. Last year I had to move my stud Right DE's like JPP and Jared Allen to Left End in order to get sacks, and it's looking like it will be the same this year unless they fix it. I'm still getting quite a bit of pressure with DT's too.

Kind of mind boggling this hasn't been fixed after all the discussion with the problems last year....

I don't know if this has been posted or not, so forgive me if so. I noticed that if you adjust any sliders for Human or CPU Skills that the Skill level always gets reset to rookie.

The only negative about this demo and they really need to address before the game is released is that the wide receivers drop way too many balls when they are wide open. I just dont understand it, smf

It says rookie, but it uses the custom sliders. They don't have a skill level programmed to say "Custom", so anything modified just gets called rookie.

Who said the physics engine in that game was trash?

If anything, most were impressed by it. However, the reason why many people felt the game as a whole was "trash" was due to things outside of its physics engine like lack of modes, strange gameplay camera angles, strange controls, bad AI, limited options, etc.

But yeah, the majority were impressed by its physics engine at the time.

Anyways, I'm still enjoying Madden 13. Loving the overall feel of the game.

I had a few dropped passes but the majority of them were caught when WRs were wide open.

                          I'm loving the new trajectories.

I for one did. Calling something a physics engine that doesn't respect gravity, weight or momentum is a huge slap in the face to physics in general.

The demo is decent at best. Ea still have a long way to go. To all the hpypers comparing the ie to hiroshima and Nagasaki all I have to say is wow. It is safe to say now that all these gc guy are ea hype machine and they did a pretty good job hyping up the infinity engine.
