    I've been playing around with my special teams roster a lot. I noticed that the CPU-established special teams players are horrible. The ratings of players on special teams seem to fluctuate a lot depending on what position they are in, I never noticed this before. Now I think the lowest rated players on kick/punt returns and kick/punt coverage are 53, and only a couple of them are starters. Now its nothing for my returners to bring the ball back 35 yards, and on the other side of the ball I have been containing returners pretty well. Just by re-shuffling my special teams players my rating went from 2-3 stars. Too bad CPU coached teams don't make these adjustments, to make the game a lot more comptetive.

        Same thing in NBA2k3...(VC/SEGA)...some folks edited the point guards or they wouldn't pass the ball...lol...

        I don't see that the ratings effect CPU controlled teams...but the human is at a distict disadvantage whrn the unrealistically (IMO)low rated guys hit the field...

        Try it in 'chise mode in a preseason game...the CPU leaves it's starters in and if you put your second team up against them they play like a junior high squad...lol...

        I'm boosting a few guys who (like Mike Pucillo of the Bills) are rated in 30-40's but now start ahead of guys (Marques Sullivan) who are rated in the mid 70's...

        I've noticed that any player will improve a lot with a higher consistancy rating...a big one in this title...

        I look at the Sporting News Guide to NFL Player ratings a lot...and the Madden ratings seem to reflect what the scouts say more accurately than ESPN...thier straength and weaknesses are more accuratly depicted...IMO...
