    week 10

    ***Jags 37 vs Niners 3***

The game started off with tha niners getting tha ball first. On there first play from scrimmage Rattay hits T.E. Johnson for a 38yrd completion to put tha niners on tha jags 34. From there Barlow took over and got tha ball three times in a row. On a 3rd and 1 tha jags D stepped up on stopped Barlow for no gain. Niners have to settle for tha fg to take an early 3-0 lead.

Jags answer back on there opening drive with a nice mix of Freddy and Leftwhich. Jags march down tha field and get tha first TD of tha game. but it wouldn't be there last.

2nd quarter opened with tha niners throwing an int to Mathis only to see him get hit and drop tha ball, luckly Darius was there to fall on tha ball. Niners stop jags this time and hold them scoreless. Late in tha 2nd jags got it going again and put another 7 on tha board thx to there FB. Jags take a 14-3 lead into tha locker room.

3rd quarter jags recieve but don't do anything with it. Niners get ball and on 1st down Rat gets hit hard by Stroud and losses tha ball luckly a niners recovered it. Still 14-3 jags get tha ball and do something with it this time. Lead by tha arm of Leftwhich jags add another 7 to make it 21-3 on a 62yrd strike to none other then Jimmy Smith. Niners get ball back and again Rat is sacked this time by Gildon, Stroud recovers tha ball and gets into tha endzone to extend tha lead 28-3.

After that tha jags sat on tha lead and added 3 fg's to win 37-3

Jags defense had another big game recording 7 sacks 2int's and caused Rattay to cough up tha ball 3 times(one returned for a td)

I'm going to have to try and play again, and hope my connection is better. Man, I really wish I could have played in this league all the way through!

        ***Buccaneers 13 vs Giants 17***

The giants took the opening possesion and marched the ball quickly up the field to take a 7-0 lead with a Kurt Warner to Jeremy Shockey 2 yard touchdown pass.

Then a few possesions later the Giants in the second quarter go on top 14-0 when Warner hit Toomer on a 26 yard touchdown pass.

Bucs kept it tight when Garner scored on a 2 yard run to make the score 17-10. Giants however were able to stop the bucs offense several times in the crunch and barely hold on for a victory 17-13.

          Week 10

          Chiefs 14 *** Broncos 10

This game had a little of everything. After Broncos elect to kick to open the game, KC's very first play, a 74 yard bomb to Gonzalez gives the Chiefs the early lead 7-0. On Denver's first series, Plummer gives up the INT, though escapes punishment as the Chiefs can't convert the 41 yd FG. Denver decides to revert more to the run on a 9 play sustained drive topped off by a Droughns 3 yd plunge. Score tied at 7's. In quarter 2, the main highlight is John Lynch spearing across the middle to pick off Green and return back to the Denver 43, the drive stalls but not before Elam nails a 33 yarder and give the Broncos the 10-7 halftime lead.

KC hold Denver initially to open the 2nd half and then promptly goes on their own 8 play drive capped by a 20 yd Holmes run to the right after picking up 2 key blocks at the 3:11 mark of the 3rd.

Then in the 4th the drama became intense. KC face a 3rd and 37 after 3 consecutive penalties forcing them back to their own 5 as Denver's defense stiffened on the first two downs. But the air strike of Green to Gonzo connected once again with a 43 yard completion and brought KC out of the shadows. However, Denver did not let this deflate their cause knowing they needed the win to make the playoffs. Forcing KC to punt at the 6:00 mark, they knew they needed ball control and a score. They got one of the two. Going on a 13 play drive that featured a 4th and season conversion, Denver dinked and dunked their way down to the KC 11 by the 2:00 warning. However, a clipping call pushed them back to the KC 26, but gave Plummer and Co. more room to maneuver. At 1:06, Denver earned another first down at the KC 7 as the Chiefs were forced to use time-outs to preserve clock in case the Broncs found the zone. With 55 ticks left after 2 run plays that got them inside the KC 1, and the Chiefs with no time-outs left, the Broncos sees Droughns stuffed for no gain. Denver lets the clock run to the :12 mark befor taking a time-out. On 4th, they decide on the speedier, but lighter Griffin in the backfield to bring them home, but the scatback is also stuffed just short of the goal line with no review. The Chiefs generally porous run defense on the day puts up the wall and knocks Denver out of the playoffs.

Offensive player of the game award goes to Tony Gonzalez who picked up two long receptions and a key first down for over 150 yds. Defensive player to John Lynch for a timely INT and great tackle support.

Great, great game Brasill. You were a tremendous competitor and a humble player both with the lead and in the loss. You are invaluable to this league!

            WILDCARD PLAYOFF ROUND

            ***NINERS 33 VS CHIEFS 0***

In a heated rivalry between these two teams the regular season Chiefs took the upper hand with 2 consecutive wins against the Niners. All indications going into Arrowhead stadium in a playoff game vs the Chiefs that nothing would be different. The 49-ers however have brought their A game.

1st Quarter: This was a tight battle until the Niners scored with seconds left at the end of the quarter on a 53yrd TD pass to Lloyd sparking a 7-0 lead.

2nd Quarter: Another close qtr whiched ended with SF 46yrd Peterson FG making it 10-0.

With Just a 10-0 lead going into the 2nd half the Chiefs just couldn't get anyting going offensively.

3RD Quarter: Tim Rattay threw another TD pass for 68yrds to Lloyd making it a 17-0 lead. With some critical interceptions by KC it just made matters worst for a possible comeback. Rattay threw yet another TD pass to Wilson for 8yrds making it a 24-0 lead.

4th Quarter SF topped the game off with 3 more FGs making it a 33-0 victory over the Chiefs.

KC had just 9yrds total passing for the day and 3 INTs which was the deciding factor in this game.

A Rivalry that will never die!! GG Gordie!

              WILD CARD WEEKEND
NEW YORK GIANTS VS TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
The bucs and giants both come into this game
struggling but someone had to move on to face
the colts juggernaut, who would it be??

the bucs knew the key to the game was their
running game and on the first drive of the game
they set out to prove that. the bucs got 4
different running backs involved in a 16 play
80 yard drive that took 7 minutes and 10 seconds
that was capped off by charlie garner catching a
six yard pass from brian griese this would be the
beginning of a huge game for mr. garner.
the next play from scrimmage sealed the giants fate
early as kurt warner throws across the middle and
is picked off by shelton quarles who takes it back to
the house, but the bad news for giant fans is that kurt
warner was injured on the play and did not return.
Eli Manning is summoned off of the giant bench and his
first pass is picked off by dexter jackson and returned
to the giant 10 yard line two plays later nine yard swing
pass to garner puts the bucs up 21-0
Later in the second quarter after a buc fumble Tiki Barber
scampers 19 yards to make the score 21-7 and the buc fans
start to wonder if this is a breakdown in the making. Griese
throws a pick and the boo birds come out at the Ray Jay!!
However the buc d forces a three and out and all is well.
the punt is returned 21 yards by michael pittman who had a
huge day in the return game averaging 16 yards on 5 returns.
Next play from scrimmage charlie garner explodes thru the giant
defense for a 62 yard touchdown which put the bucs up 28-7 at the
              half
The bucs start the third quarter trying not to lose and take
over half of the period on a 11 play 55 yard drive which ends
with a jay taylor 40 yard field goal to make the score 31-7.
The fans start to head home to avoid the traffic thinking this game
              is over!!
The giants march down the field and get right back on the board with
a Tiki barber 1 yard plunge to make the score 31-14
Two plays later Charlie Garner breaks four or five tackles en route
to a 82 yard touchdown (told you he had a big game) to put the icing
              on the cake.
And as the bucs try to run out the clock Mr. garner takes a pitch and
runs to daylight a 23 yard scamper ends the scoring and a OSFL record
day for mr garner as he racks up 5 touchdowns en route to earning
              mvp honors!!!
A good game by cat22catch just seems like the bucs caught all the breaks
and having warner go down didnt help. good luck next season.

              KEY STATS
              Brian griese 15 for 18

                ****Jags- 24 Niners- 13****

This was a real good game with tha niners playin tough ball all tha way threw. Jags were able to shut down tha Niners in tha second halfand that was tha difference.

Good point. I think this would be the Conference Championship.....but we don't really have conferences. So I guess this would be divisional championship????.....Although "Conference Championship" sounds cooler.

Meh, either way, the next game is "Gordie Bowl I" !!!

Congrats to dolphinfan who stepped in for the Colts (who went through multiple GM changes) and took the championship 17-7! We appreciate him coming in on a moments notice.

Thanks again to Brasill who did a knock out job with the statistics and helped make Season One a success!

Maybe we just need to consider changing the league name starting next season to OFL? (Old Farts League)

Looking forward to Season Two, whenever that starts! lol
