Re: What does NFL 2K5 have that Madden still doesn't have?

Why would this be more suited there than here? It is equally about Madden and NFL2k5. If it gets moved there isn't it likely people would say "why is this in this forum...it should be moved to Madden!".

The problem stems from the fact that if you make a list of what features are available in both and which are broken and which ones aren't...the scales tip in favor of NFL2k5 and Madden gamers don't like that. I own and play Madden 360. I really don't want to have to go back to 2k5 for my footbal fix. But the further I get into this game the more flawed it seems except for maybe graphics.

It is missing so many features and appears to have an equal amount of glitches or bugs (fatigue, lighting issues, and way too many CPU interceptions and fumbles) as NFL2k5. Look at all the threads talking about getting the current gen version or the PC version to get a complete game as an alternative to the 360 version. Should we really have to look to alternatives to their flagship release? Really.....Madden 360 is looking to be a big disapointment to many gamers.

And that only fuels the NFL2k5 fire more......

I'm begging EA to really come through so we can have no reason to look back at NFL2k5........please....I guess we'll have to wait another year.

but it doesnt matter this is pointless now. madden fans dont care, nore do the shirts at EA.

by the way, i never see any 2k5 fans say it was perfect, just that its leauges ahead of the comp. but not perfect...
This stuff has to be brought up. Or people will continue to pretend it never existed. I mean gang tackling was done on a last gen system 3 years ago. Were not even remotely close to that yet with Madden. Leauges ect...ect...

I dont think this thread should be locked. All its doing is voicing the problems people have with Madden.
IMO theres nothing wrong with bringing this up. How else do you compare similar products. The sad thing is were able to compare a 3 year old last gen game to next gen Madden. Thats whats disgusting.

And if you dont want to read this why would you click on this thread ???

Exactly . I want tnothing more than EA to make me forget 2K ever existed. Too bad they are only making me want it and miss it more.

You will have a long wait. And don't get too excited about the NFL ending this exclusive deal with EA (aka the Largest game publisher in the country, with the most well-known fanchise in sports video games) anytime soon, if ever.

I really think (looking at the business side of it) it is more likely the NFL will take the rights back, create (buy) a studio, create a publisher (NFL Network Interactive sounds right) and publish their own NFL video games complete with full NFL Network presentation.

I am not kidding. And you heard it here first.
          Thanks for the advice.

This is truly the best fun I have had on an NFL game since 2K3 came out. The Right Stick gives you a little power on the run, but not too much. 2k4 and 2k5 reminded me of Techmo Bowl when Christian Okeye would go up the middle and defenders would fly in the air when he pounded through them.
Once again commish, gotta call you on that....... a few simple clicks and the problem is solved.

Guess its too hard for madden peeps to read. Ok. Legts all pretend gang tackling and online REAL leagues never existed.

This thread is nothing more than another exercise in "let's talk about all the positives while ignoring the glaring negatives" so typical of the 2k true believers.

If a Madden version of this thread had been started in the 2k forum, it wouldn't have survived 15 mins.

                  Football (Other) forum?

This thread belongs in the Madden Forum; it's not about tearing Madden down, it's about how we can help make Madden better. This thread is directly relevant to Madden and it's future development. If a poster is going to write about off-topic subjects then they are the problem, not the thread.

It'd probably be useful to have threads about what Madden can "borrow" from other games , even non-sports games. Many of the greatest games of all time have borrowed elements from other games, it's simply how the industry gets along. Madden shouldn't be ashamed to borrow from 2K or whatever other game. There is lots of low hanging fruit, in the form of examples from other games, that the Madden team can pluck if they wish.

where do you guys get this notion that most feel 2k had no negatives? thats rediculous....its just that as a whole it seemed light years ahead of its time, and next gen football todate proves that true, in terms of of various field player interactions, animations, gamplay, presentations, etc, etc. the game DID have FLAWS!!! though.

I think what the poster you are replyin to was trying to say is he likes football games not companies, and the only football game in towns tends to focus on things like fan cheering sections while the games framerates are strugling while some critical gameplay elements are left at levels below previous gen capabilities

and the other guy is funny boy!2k5 is the football messiah
it had flaws but not flaws that render the game unplayable...

now mvp05 is overated i thought along with nfl2k5 it would be one of the best sports game in history but it failed, cause it played like an arcade game to me.if it had the k-zone pitching and true aim batting.

madden have alot of time to CATCH up to 2k5,but it seems like they are just cpying and pasting

No the thread was moved because it was about both 2K and Madden. That DOES NOT belong in the Madden or the 2K forum. It belongs in the "Other Football" forum.

The move seemed rather obvious to me.

I disagree.....wasn't this thread started by someone who put their hard earned money into this year's Madden expecting for it to be, by now, at least up to par with many of 2K5's features? People have posted numerous times in the 2K thread how they wished it would have incorporated Madden's franchise logic and strategy.....and those weren't moved. I think we just have some sensitive Madden folk around here......understandably so if a game I was waiting for all year still didn't deliver for $60.

Doesn't matter how it started. It's what it turned into.

I have no recollection of threads in the 2K forum and wanting the Madden franchise logic in it. I wasn't a Mod 2 years ago so there was nothing I could do about that then. It has nothing to do with sensitive Madden folk either (although I know that's the crying call for all 2K people - even though OS has been very supportive of 2K for a VERY long time. In fact, most mods/admins have preferred 2K football over EA for years).

In any case, I'm not moving this thread back so we can either carry on with the topic and comparison of both games or I'll just lock it.
