But the main question is, if you have heavy customization to where you can put in all the logos and uniforms from those leagues, why would you need to spend money on the licenses at all? I'm not seeing the point to it.

Re: Sign If You Want A Highly Customizable 2K Next-Gen Game
Facemask is right & the NFLPA doesn't seem to want to break the deal with EA since MUT is making money. However, I think you have something. Give us all the customization options (keep your gold, silver, bronze let us choose their abilities but make it like the Hex options for XBox 360 but a whole lot tamer) make sure the gameplay is top notch & still sim. However, give us a story mode similar to Blitz the league series with even darker tones to it. Like a GTA style MyPlayer, going to strip clubs, doing drugs lol things like that or you can pick to be squeky clean and avoid the seediness of fame. It has been awhile since we seen an alternative, I think players will be more receptive to this kind of thing if the gameplay is tight and we still have some traditional options such as franchise, drafts etc.
If you go legends, you're simply going down an avenue that has already proven to be cost ineffective and sales light.
If you go with defunct leagues, you're asking and hoping that people buy into brandings that weren't successful to begin with.
If you go futuristic or "bygone era", nobody will take it seriously and it will be looked at as a little niche game like BackBreaker was looked at.
It has to be in the now, and it has to be no-holds barred. Considering where the NFL has gone now with rule changes and rule emphasis, I think people would welcome this. Besides, the concept of getting into a bar brawl on Saturday and then throwing a game-winning TD on Sunday sounds like a license to print money in North America.Comment

Re: Sign If You Want A Highly Customizable 2K Next-Gen Game
2k would have access to their rosters an coaches by having those licenses.. Another thing the gamer will have the chance to play with likes of Jim Kelly, Doug Williams, Hershel Walker, Joe Cribbs, Sam Millis, Simeon Rice, David Boston, Jeff Garcia, Culpepper and others that played in those defunct leagues.. They don't have to pay the players at all by using their likeness..Comment

These players have to be negotiated with individually, and EA already has a ton under contract. This is just not going to happen man. You're hoping for a concept that was already tried and didn't work. I wouldn't want 2K to try this again even if it were possible.Comment

Re: Sign If You Want A Highly Customizable 2K Next-Gen Game
I think it would just perfect that 2K creates XFL 2K16, cause that's the easiest route to at least get some league started, as they have rights with WWE.
Mix that with the creation suite of WWE 2K15, we might be getting somewhere with customization.

I'm not sure the XFL/UFL are solvent entities that can even be licensed. Might as well be the 2kFL or something that reduces costs and doesn't involve paying people before you even have a product. Make a great game and brand the followup. They need to get the game part much more than the branding. That has never been the problem with the alternatives to Madden.Comment

Re: Sign If You Want A Highly Customizable 2K Next-Gen Game
I so love a customizable game more so than an NFL game. Growing up, I was an imaginative kid, played a lot of games in the back yard all by myself. The teams I created were totally fictional. I have even taken my fictional college conference to NCAA since it would be odd seeing a 46 year old guy playing football by himself in the backyard.
Being able to create my own teams and players with a game that would be the progressed quality of what we experienced with APF2k8 would be a dream come true.Comment

Re: Sign If You Want A Highly Customizable 2K Next-Gen Game
I myself would support another 2K football game regardless of any success. They should just start making one already.
I would most certainly like if they could let us create our own teams, randomize the generated player names, and have a full 25 or 30 year franchise with trades, free agency, etc. Another plus would be draft classes you can edit to your liking, just like the draft classes on their NBA games.
We as sports gamers need to not be so passionate about having the real teams or the real players on sports video games.Last edited by Neoprankster; 12-05-2014, 07:47 PM.Comment

SIGNED! I would really love a fully customizable game. Something that would allow you to make your own leagues and design logos/uniforms like Backbreaker did, and the ability to set your own rules. If you wanted to play CFL rules, NCAA, NFL, etc, you could do that. There are a lot of fans who like to create their own teams on Madden and NCAA and something like that would be
right up their alley. I love the NFL, but a good football game that's got lots of playability, with good customization and decent graphics would get my money for sure.Comment
