Dudes are just gonna drive themselves crazy with all the "they're doing this in this way! It has to be on consoles!"
I'm not even caring about all that. I dont feel like I have any room to complain if the game came out on Gameboy at this point. There are no other options. I cant act like a diva. I'm gonna buy it and maybe if enough people do that we'll get more games. Not buying just tells companies we don't want these games, so then we have to wait years and years in between prayin for another one. I don't want that. I'm tired of that. I'm buyin no matter what its on. I want something to change, don't spend money, nothing will ever change.Comment

Drop the MicIt's not about the win or loss that reveals a man, but the journey to get there and the battle that transpired. This speaks VolumesComment

PC is better than nothing, but if that's the sole medium aside from mobile devices you can still count me out.
My experience with PC gaming has been downright awful. This is not only because I'm incredibly ignorant when it comes to hardware specs and what games today demand, but also because I have never been one to spend a lot of money on a PC gaming rig when I have a console.
I understand that gaming on the PC is legitimately better for a multitude of reasons. But I can't warrant spending 500+ on a gaming computer, even for the game I've been waiting 10 years for, when I already dropped that much for a new Playstation.Comment

A console can last as much as 8+ years as we've seen. A gaming PC is going to need regular upgrades, perhaps a few times during that time span if you want to be absolutely current. Then most of your friends won't be gaming on PC since the majority of gamers game mostly on consoles, so there is another huge problem right there.
One other thing that gets me is that people who say "You can build something better than PS4 for $400!" are not aware of all the features PS4 has, plus its controller tech and camera tech. To get all of that--and you'll have to do a number of things DIY--it's going to cost a lot more money.Comment

Would anyone else be mad if they used generic knockoff teams for the game. Like if the Arizona cardinals were called the Arizona Redbridge and had an incredibly similar uniform scheme. Imo, if you don't have the nfl license, stay as far away as possible from real teams. Blitz the league did a good job at this but I feel the team's need a bit of a background story, which is why I think apf was a little lacking. It was like being thrown into the league's first season and having no intention of developing team personalities.Comment

Gaming on PC is alright, but there are a lot of drawbacks. Listening to a lot of other people on the net who play on PC, they'd have you believe everybody can run games at 144fps and 4K, but to do that you need to spend some dough. Then there is maintenance to deal with, and incompatibility issues with games because unlike console gaming there is no uniform optimization because PC rigs vary.

You left out the biggest advantage to PC, you can customize the heck out of, I did it for Madden last decade. Heck, our boys are big time PC gamer's and they graduated from laptops to gaming PC's that they put together on their own and saved a heckuva lot of money putting it together on their own vs buying one outright from a Dell or HP.
In four years, they will probably need to update their graphic cards.
Still worth it to them.Last edited by roadman; 02-07-2015, 11:40 AM.Comment

Most pc games have minimum system requirements that make them able to run just fine on a large majority of standard pc's .I know, for example, recent versions of NBA2k doesn't need anything that almost anyone here would have to not have a problem.Comment

There are pros and cons to each.

True. You can do a lot of customization with consoles, too though. Some of the mods I've seen for XBOX 360 and original XBOX are just insane. Granted, you can't upgrade hardware like you can on a PC because the hardware has to stay within a uniform spec range to run the native games properly, but everything else possible is really impressive. I saw a guy mod his original XBOX (the first XBOX not 360) to do everything an XBOX One can do. I didn't see the point of going through all the trouble, but I couldn't deny that it was pretty impressive.
They didn't want dad anywhere near them.
Sure, you can do customization with consoles, but the average Joe, probably not. ie, me.Last edited by roadman; 02-07-2015, 11:01 AM.Comment

You have the right thinking about Blitz. The names and logos were creative, believable, and the teams had history written for them. The league itself did. It made all the difference in the world. The fact that APF lacked that was just lazy and it really made the game feel generic which absolutely hurt the game's perception. There was just nothing to latch onto. Then add in the lack of franchise, and the fact that you couldn't edit the entire league forcing you to play against teams with bad names, and uniforms that you wouldn't want to be caught dead in, and this baby was doomed before it ever went to press.
Like I was saying a few pages back, I don't want generic. I want them to put some effort into making the default league believable, just for the simple fact that everyone is not like us; not everyone will want to have master editing control of the entire league. I want that, but I try to remember that I'm not the only audience they have to sell this game to. Put the editing control in, but make sure you have enough meat as default for people who don't want to do all of that.Comment

I know I'm talking OT a bit here(waiting for info to be released!), I was just trying to say there is a lot of gratification of putting your own rig together(16 and 20 yrs old) and saving a ton of money doing it on your own, plus the customization capabilities. The money they saved putting it together will purchase all the upgrades they need in the future.

The big downside with modding consoles is that a false step can get you banned from the system's online service, so that's always a big concern.Comment

I doubt they'll do knockoff names.

Following this thread has got my playing APF again. To be honest, the team's designs don't bother me anymore. When your dying of football thirst, even a Zima tastes pretty good I guess.Comment
