Hey Spear, just out of curiosity, from a business standpoint, would you be obligated to patch the game if someone from the community finds a way to force the real life rosters/team settings via a second hand program?

I'm not really asking if it can be done, but would you have to create a fix to prevent that from happening if something is developed in the future?

You have to wait more than a couple of hours. I'm sure he has a life outside of posting updates on OS. Relax...

Re: Doug Flutie's Maximum Football 2019 Development Thread

A huge thank you to the team that's put this together. I'll be a day one purchaser and I will continually support the team and their efforts going forward.

Has there been any talk of moving away from the prevailing "madden model" of sports game where a new game is released every year with minor to moderate changes? I know many people advocate for periodic releases with "expansion" style updates which could be paid for individually or on a patron model (heck, even a no man's sky type of upgrade). This could be much more complex than I'd imagine from a programming and distribution standpoint, but my initial thought is that it would be a win-win for developer and consumer - consumers get more frequent and thorough updates to the game and developers can release on a slower time scale instead of trying to force something out on tighter deadlines.

Thanks again for all the work you all do!

Excuse me if this has already been asked. Could this ever be released on PC, or is there a legal issue there?

i do come with feedback as well. this might've been brought to your attention, and it might even be fixed already. however, i'll mention it anyway. at the 0:29/0:30 minute mark, there a clip of the QB making a throw on the run. it appears that ball isn't even in his hand. first, it's offset from the palm. then as he rares back, it's above the back of his hand. as he's about to release, the nose of the ball is pointed down. then he lobs it to the receiver. i took a couple of snap shots for reference.

The Unity replay engine isn’t always smooth, similar to last year in that regard. Game looks much better in-game then trying to use the replay engine frame by frame.

I think what Spear is saying is "It's a video game and it won't be perfect." We can look at games like Madden or 2K and do frame-by-frame breakdowns to see that it's not perfect... just like you can do a frame-by-frame analysis of someone's work at a job and see that it's not perfect. It's a work in progress and they've made improvements from last year.

I'm sure we'll see plenty of weird videos out there with replays with things like this when it gets released, but it's not like this in the live gameplay.

For context...I captured about half of the trailer footage using the in-game replay feature. It's not great to use for representational purposes. It doesn't represent the full experience of actual gameplay because you have to turn off certain physics, object collision / placements, etc. It looks a bit funky sometimes.

Thankfully, we focused all the attention on gameplay. And that's pretty awesome.

Ultimately, that's why we play the games. A game could have 1000 features, but if the gameplay isn't fun. People aren't going to play it. You'll are definitely focusing on the right area of the game! Can't wait. One question, exactly what types of option plays are in the game?
