Re: Doug Flutie's Maximum Football 2019 Development Thread
I assume Kentucky West is Western Kentucky but with a slightly made-up name since they cannot use actual schools in the game.
University of Texas for example is listed as Austin.
Clemson is West Carolina. Especially since the actual Western Carolina University team wears blue and should not have a cat's paw print on its helmet.
I don't know why Auburn is listed as Auburn but probably a mistake or a new name hasn't been decided on yet. Also, it's a camera shot of the screen so we don't know if whoever is controlling the game edited the school to Auburn and started a game or not.
Likely when the official screen goes out it won't say Auburn."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Hey Spear,
I was just curious to how much is being spent on special teams? I know ncaa spent almost no time improving their special teams even though it is a big part of the game and can turn the tide in your favor with a blocked kick. it just felt like there because the rules called for it in the ncaa series.Comment

Re: Doug Flutie's Maximum Football 2019 Development Thread
Auburn is a city in Alabama and wouldn’t be a likeness issue unless the actual school name, nickname, logos, mascot, etc, are used. EA used city or state names for The first Bill Walsh. Miami was Miami, Alabama was Alabama, Syracuse was Syracuse, and so on. Schools that didn’t have city or state names were named after the city they were in- South Bend, State College, Columbus, etc.
It would be an issue if the school is listed as Auburn University by default. That's not going to slide for the real Auburn University or the NCAA.
Either way, I was just answering the questions people had in this thread about the school names. I doubt any of the schools will use the real name even if it's based on a city.
edit: The man has corrected me. Auburn it is.Last edited by CMH; 07-29-2019, 09:24 PM."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Re: Doug Flutie's Maximum Football 2019 Development Thread
Does anyone know what the playbooks will look like? Just archetypes or team-specific? Will there be some sort of custom playbook feature? I'm dying of curiosity.

Nice, may as well use city & state names when you can, and being a nerd, I counted them all- there are 66 FBS schools where this applies counting service academies.Last edited by BROman; 07-29-2019, 10:12 PM.Comment

Buy it anyway. I will. These guys are trying to deliver something we really want, which is a really quality football game. It's really hard to do, especially as some indy developer. They are probably not going to get everything right with the first releases. So what. Buy the game and give them feedback. Give them a chance to get the game to the level you want.
You have a unique opportunity to help with a football game by a developer that will actaully listen to you and deliver what you want, EA never did that. You can bitch about EA never making another CFB game, or you can do something about it by helping these guys. Spend $30 towards trying get what you really want.Purple people eatersComment
