    Thats a joke.

If anything no one deserved to win.
The 49ers got their asses handed to them for 3 Qtrs, came back like madmen, got the lead only to let the Giants walk down the field for the game winning FG. Only a bad snap and poor officiating stopped the Giants from winning most likely.

If there's a FG try and it goes through who would have said the 49ers deserved to win? No one. They didn't show up to play until there was 20 minutes left in the game.

And isn't Fossil an *** now for pulling out some of the starters early? I bet he doesn't do that one again.

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

Wasn't a game played for 4 quarters?! thats right 4 quarters!

Giants thought they only had to play 3 quarters.

They also missed the Plummer INT, which should have sealed the victory.

Was that the play that they weren't sure if it was imcomplete or a fumble? If so, are you kidding?? There was no way he had control of that ball.

Re: report: Giants should have had another play

        You've missed the point entirely.

The point was, and is valid, that if one was to say that the Giants didn't deserve to win because the blew a big lead, then the 49ers didn't deserve to win because they dug themselves a huge hole.

Let go of your homer shield for a second and read what was said.

        And missed calls happen.
The problem with the end of this game was it was a blown rule. No one missed the pass interference. They didn't call it on purpose.

Why did it take this long to come out if Fossil told the refs prior to the game that he was eligible on all FGs??

if Fossil was any good he would have told the refs they made a mistake and then they could have corrected the call.

The Twirps lost this game long before this play, they lost, they deserved to lose, get over it.

I'm tired of the NFL treating the Giants as their son who can do no wrong. They always get the breaks, they always have the refs on their side, and finally, for once in a lifetime, THEY GET SCREWED. So, STFU and DEAL with it.

Maybe Fossil should have tried doubling TO instead ofleaving him one on one against a horrible Sehorn.

Tam Hopkins, No. 65, of the Giants lined up as the left guard and was illegally downfield on the pass attempt. The three flags thrown on this play were for this penalty.
Guard Rich Seubert, No. 69, was an eligible receiver on Giants field-goal attempts. This was reported to the officiating crew prior to the game as is routinely done before every game.

            <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

Look at the posting again! #65 was the man downfield who was getting tackled. He was NOT an eligble receiver. #69 lined up AS an eligible receiver. #65 was also the one who they are screaming PI on. He couldnt have caught the ball anyways. IF they had thrown to #69 then it may be different.

Re: report: Giants should have had another play

NFL is just ticked off cause they wanted a Jets/Giants Super Bowl so they are ticked that it didnt end up that way. All sports are all about tv ratings and making the networks happy. Pffffffffffffffffft. After a while you get sick and tired hearing about New York this New York that ABC wants this CBS wants that. Whatever happened to just letting them play the damn game and forget about the all mighty dollar.

              Minor rant over

I don't remember the play totally, and I don't completely understand the rule, but that post was an article from the NFL, so they must know something.

                  You got it wrong Rusty.
And I just saw the play again where they stopped and pointed out who was who starting where they lined up. #69 was the one that was tackled, #65 was the one near him (and bit closer and to the right when looking at the play from the line of scrimmage) that was down field ilegally. #69 was eligible.

But it dosn't matter except for bitching purposed because no matter how bad they got the call the Giants aren't going to Tampa next week except maybe to go to Busch Gardens.

And BTW, leagues hate same city finals. They usually bring horrible ratings. You can look it up, opinions dont matter on this one. So no way is there a conspiracy to get both NY teams in the finals.

I garuntee next year the Giants will lock home field soon as possible and win the Suer Bowl just so the NFL can make this up tp them.

                    What a joke.

damn what's with all the damn bitching? I DONT SEE BROWNS FANS BITCHING! Blame it on the Giants snapper, he messed up two field goal snaps in the 4th quarter. Sheesh, you guys need to suck it up. If they had made that field goal we would not be here talking about referees and so forth.

Re: report: Giants should have had another play

OMG, its so annoying that people cannot tolerate dicussion of extremely bad calls by the refs.

Just get over it. The refs sometimes screw up as in this case. Its no less worthy of dicussion as a fumble or pick that cost a team a game.

If the 49ers had played better for the first 3 Qtrs we wouldn't be having this discussion either.

But the refs screwed up and I myself, hating both teams, find it interesting.

Same here, I'm not bitching, I don't care who wins, I do care about bad officiating in the NFL though
