Re: Kurt Warner, Hall of Fame?
Warner goes to the HOF. There are people in there with alot less better stats, and no SB wins.Comment

Re: Kurt Warner, Hall of Fame?
So did Unitas. Hell Unitas was cut by the Steelers and was playing sandlot ball at one point. He also lost his starting job at one point before regaining it later in his career.Comment

Re: Kurt Warner, Hall of Fame?
I don't really understand the "product of the system" argument either.
Someone a few pages ago brought up a great point about Warner being the key to the Greatest Show on Turf. That offense, IMO, ran through Warner's ability to make quick, accurate throws in stride to Holt/Bruce, who would then rack the YAC. It's not a coincidence to me that the Rams began to spiral off once they released Warner.I write things on the Internet.

Re: Kurt Warner, Hall of Fame?
Kurt Warner should now definitely be in the hall of fame. Some people what to use rigid and stiff analysis on Kurt but won't apply that same analysis to other QB's that are in the hall. Let's take Marino. Marino (my all time favorite) amassed a lot of stats during his tenure in the NFL but his stats did not translate to alot of wins (rings). The system was designed for him to pass, pass, pass, quite naturally he would then have a lot of passing stats. Definite Hall of famer, one SB appearance, no SB victories. I don't know the number of MVP's.
Troy Aikmen. Troy was the beneficiary of a great team (really a block buster trade, what was it 12 players for Herschell Walker?). You take away that talent that Troy had, You got Carson Palmer.
Joe Nameth. C'mon one SB win, ended up with the Rams on the bench.
Kurt has accomplished quite a bit during his tenure in the NFL. Those years when he was unproductive was due to injury, #1 draft pick politics, and a plain old disbelief that a player at a certain age can't perform. Kurt has proven himself to still be above level at the qb position, man, he has taken two different teams to the SB (no other hall of fame qb has done that) on top of everything else. All things considered, he should be a lock.Comment

IMO, Carson Palmer's better than Aikman.
But I understand and agree with what you're saying.Proud member of the Who-Dat NationComment

Carson Palmer would be good. If he wasn't on the Bengals. And his knee didn't explode.Comment

Re: Kurt Warner, Hall of Fame?
Kurt Warner did more than lift the historically dysfunctional Cardinals franchise into its first Super Bowl on Sunday. He also lifted himself past the Chosen One, Peyton Manning,to right behind Tom Brady on the list of the best quarterbacks in the NFL today.
Ask 32 GM's which QB they'd rather have right now.

Re: Kurt Warner, Hall of Fame?
I think a lot depends on what happens in the next couple of years. If Warner gets hurt, Leinart comes in for the rest of the season and has a 100+ QB rating, that's going to make people wonder if Warner was once again just surrounded by a lot of talent. For now, I'm on the fence with Warner.Comment

Re: Kurt Warner, Hall of Fame?
When its all over The career, then and only then we can talk about when he will be in the Hall of fame..As we all know a lot of things can happen before you get nominated....Time will tell of course......The voting for the hall can be interesting at times, it sometimes has politics involved....Just ask some of the great ones who are not in the hall yet.....You first have to be eligible to be in the hall. And last time i looked at it, Warner is still in football and he might not retire yet....So when his carreer is done like i said then and only then will we know the truthComment

Re: Kurt Warner, Hall of Fame?
Besides, it wouldn't really diminish the great regular season he had this year - 4,600 yards, 30 TDs, 67% completion percentage, 96.6 QB rating, and being the MVP frontrunner through 3/4 of the season.Last edited by Chip Douglass; 02-01-2009, 02:37 PM.I write things on the Internet.
