lol. This is a funny thread. I'll be honest and say I haven't the slightest clue where Mr. Michael Vick will be this upcoming season. The only team I could see him starting on, realistically, is the 9ers, and they've said they're not interested.

I can't see him in Seattle because they've already got an established starter and a scrambler backup. I keep thinking "What about the Ravens? McNair's gone..." (RIP), and then I remember they have Flacco.

I'm sure he'll play somewhere, but I wonder where...

At this point I really don't see any team giving up a roster spot for a guy who has not played in 2 years and not really in football shape. Plus there is no telling when he will be allowed to this year. So right now vicks chances of playing this uear is slim right now.

Well Vick already has offers of about 2-3 million for like 6 games in the UFL from what they've said on ESPN. And I hear he has a meeting with the Patriots today.

I actually read the he was supposed to make the trip to Boston yesterday and didn't, thus knocking down the rumor of him being a Patriot

how would Michael Vick be running the wildcat if he came back?

the whole point of the wildcat is to get the QB off the field and add an extra blocker for the athlete taking the snap

if Vick were in the game, they would just be running a QB draw or a zone read if they had another back in the game

It's really not. The Wildcat is just a variation of the single wing. With the halfback being the focal point of the offense. He'd basically be the halfback in that offense, as opposed to the QB lined outside or somewhere else in the backfield.

In today's variation of the WC, the QB doesn't come off the field but is usually liked up like a WR, or as almost a wingback.

Like I said it's the singlewing with more motion and pre-snap movement hence the twist on a 70 year old offense.

And With Vick's passing ability, they probably wouldn't need to keep the starting QB on the field and could add another WR or RB. Or they could go with another QB to keep the possibility of the Reverse Pass that Pennington did to Patrick Cobbs last year.

But they would. One of the advantages is, you keep the QB on the field so the defense doesn't adjust their personel and playcalling by knowing the WC is coming.

^Right, right. They don't initially come out in the Wildcat, they shift to it before they're really set in whatever formation they do line-up in.

Won't it be kinda obvious that they're about to go to a wildcat if they throw vick in for a play?

Not necessarily. Troy Smith ran a few "wildcat" plays last year for Baltimore. Because he's a QB you still have to worry about him passing (made a nice pass to Flacco in one of the plays) and sometimes it's a simple option or QB draw. Just gotta mix it up a bit. I guess you could compare it to obvious running downs... still lots of options.
