People are making great points on 610 WIP. This move was to take the Phillies off their pedestal as the king of this city...getting the most press coverage. Because it was well known that Lurie wanted the Eagles to be the first to win a title here in 25 years. They HATED that the Phillies stole that opportunity.

I'm a diehard Redskin fan and I'm FULLY supportive of Michael Vick getting a second chance, and I'm happy for the Eagles and them going out and giving this man an opportunity.

With the weapons the Eagles have, if I were the Redskins coaches..I'd be nervous.

Some of us are behind ya Vick. Great press conference, and hope things turn around for ya.

The signing of Mike Vick is great for the Eagles. It is also great for Mike Vick. He get's a second chance. Which he definitely deserves. Now they're saying that there is people putting their tickets on e-bay because they signed him. These people are not REAL EAGLE FANS. Other people have done worst, and they are allowed to live their lives. Why not him? As a TRUE EAGLES FAN I welcome the addition of Mike Vick. Cause as everyone knows about Philly, if the team is winning all this gets put to the back burner.

After watching the press conference.. i really liked what i heard. Vick has the right people around him to help get his life back on track the right way. I give mad props to Coach Dungy. That man is epitome of inspirational and is a truly a great man. Coach Reid knows what he is doing and i have full faith that this move will really benefit the Eagles and Michael Vick

I think it was after the past draft...Eagles pounding their chest about the great draft they had. And then, the Phillies got off to a great start and Raul Ibanez was getting nationwide press. Supposedly, the Eagles went to some of the news media here, complaining as to why they weren't getting enough press while the Phillies gobbled up the headlines.

P.S. I can't stand the "he deserves a second chance" line. He doesn't deserve ****. Instead, it should be he has the "right" to a second chance. He has the right to continue his footballing career. Just a small rant of mine

yea I agree, no one "deserves" anything....IMO he does has a right to get a second "chance" but im not saying he has the right to play in the NFL...

Lol I'll be supporting the Eagles for the first time ever, I hope Vick does well and its hard to not support a team who has two QB I can relate to...

I was hoping the Niners were going to sign him. I had a nice discussion with my Uncle who did not want him signed here because of the controversy he would cause. I told him, screw PETA, they don't even watch football. I would happily shove those protesters aside as I walk into Candlestick and drink a beer.

I really hope Vick plays well. He did his time and I wish him the best of luck.

Exactly what you said sir. "Vick has the right people around him to help get his life back on track the right way." There's a reason he didn't go to San Francisco and they needed a QB really bad. Vick wouldn't learn from Alex Smith because he sucks. He's in a good place with the Eagles and I'm sure his contract is only to put him on the right track. I doubt he'll be used much.

Been there many, many times. Yeah, I do. Vick will be a cultural icon by the end of the weekend. The statue should be done by Christmas.

Which is why I highly question this signing by the Eagles unless they see him taking over soon. McNabb is an incredibly insecure person by nature, and the "we want Vick!" chants will be reigning down the first time McNabb has a so-so game or worse.

He thought he was competing for the city's affection with TO? Wait until the dust settles over the Vick signing and the PETA protests subside. Vick will be the annointed one in no time.
