Funny how Jared Allen is saying that now when it was just a few weeks ago, if Favre was coming, he should be camp with the TEAM but now all of a sudden he has a change of heart now.

He must've took some notes from Jay Cutler's School of Backpeddling Out Of Things You Said.

Look, I get it. Favre is Duke, Notre Dame, The Yankees, Kobe, and Dickie V all wrapped into one.

We're going round and round here. I'll stick with my earlier thoughts that the reaction towards him compared to the reaction towards other players in the league is disconcerting at best. I'm a Bear fan. I want what's worse for him, the Vikings and the Packers. If he sucks it's good for me. I just find the huffing and puffing about the whole thing comical.

      I'll leave it at that.

He's not a hold out. I really don't even see the comparison. Hold outs want money. Some see them as being selfish and others see them as focusing on the business side of things. This has nothing to do with either.

I don't really know what you mean about the reaction bc you compared it to what's going on with Vick, Stallworth and Plaxico and the threads for each have been longer and more heated... and those are one time things while this has been the same song and dance for years. It seems like you want to exaggerate the feeling here to say people are overreacting... kind of like you're overreacting to how people feel (not including those who wish him injury). Even comparing him to Duke, ND, NYY, etc. Many of the people saying they're sick of Favre are Packers fans so I don't know how that comparison fits either. Even if someone really hates Favre, it's not bc he's a winner or appears overrated (like it is for those comparisons).

The big question for me is what role do they want Favre to play? Remember, you're talking a guy who takes a LOT of chances at the position and that's just flat out built into who he is as a football player. He brings some great things to the table, but some not so great things as well.

Does a gunslinger fit in with a heavy run-first team? Is Brett's success dictated on needing a lot of throws? How does his mentality change when passing is a second option? Does that change the risk vs. reward scenario he's been successful with his entire career? Or.......... with Tavaris late last season, he brought the element of mobility and unpredictability that helped the vikings. Will immobility be a hinderance? And what's the real status of his arm? What is his stamina in his arm like? When you start throwing a ton, how will it react?

Just saying.......... I understand WHY you'd look to fill that hole with Brett Favre. If we weren't talking about a 40 year old QB coming off an arm injury that made him ineffective, and with a recent history of not fitting in that well, it wouldn't be such a big discussion point.

Well, certainly, but if I had a million dollars I'd be a millionaire. What's it all got to do with the price of tea in China?

We're talking about how things are, not how they should or could be. Though you certainly have a valid point, it's just not quite relevant to the discussion. Of course, that's just one man's opinion.

The other thing you said was cool, though. lol.

Instead of coming up with all this B.S. about being a good team mate like that means anything in the NFL, just say "I hate Brett Favre". Good enough. To the point. Done.
                  1. When did I imply Chad or Deion were good teammates?

                  2. Chad never did a thing to Carson. I don't remember him having anything bad to say about the guy. I've only known Carson to criticize Chad.

                  3. What I said, since you didn't read earlier, was that those guys never stepped on top of their teammates in order to promote themselves.

                  4. Of course, I don't like him. Duh. Even Packer fans who used to worship him can't stand his fhony butt. I admit it. Since when does having an opinion mean what is said isn't true?

Why don't you just say "I want to carry Brett's baby"? Short. To the point. Done. Be honest. Does that mean any positive thing you say in Brett's favor is a lie?

So please don't try that tired mess. Its a weak argument that shows you have nothing to retort w/that'll support your opinion.

He'd have to arm wrestle John Madden and Chris Mortensen for that privilege.
It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

I hope Nick Barnett & the Packers break his back and make the Vikings humble old country way.

Favre is ruining what`s left of his image. He`s like some Fatal Attraction psycho running around trying to make a point to the Packers.

It's just plain frusterating now. I was like "finally, he gave it up!" when they said he was not going to play for the Vikings this season. Then not to long after I flip on ESPN he's coming back! But, really, what is Brett Farves role? Jackson is a good, quick, young quarterback. I'll be curious to see how Brett Farve fits in and how much playing time Jackson gets this season.

Late, but I want to clear up a misconception here:

                              Brett Favre
                              25/42 - 256 yards, 3 TD's, 1 INT, 91.0 QB rating

                              John Elway
                              12/22 - 123 yards, 0 TD's, 1 INT, 51.9 QB rating

The Packers didn't lose to the Broncos in Super Bowl 32 because of Brett. Favre did everything he could to win the game. The Broncos won in spite of Elway.

Brett should be a two-time Super Bowl champion.

But he isn't. I'd say "it's a shame too" but I don't really feel that way anymore. He should have just stayed retired while he can still walk and his legacy was more intact.
