And he was 28 when he finally got his shot in the NFL -- 4-5 seasons more and he would be sitting AT LEAST #2 on alot of the important career QB NFL categories.

The Oilers became a threat almost the moment he took the field -- he was that good. They had a nice decade stretch of being pretty d*** good.

Talking about Warren Moon (just clarifying since you didn't quote it... also just type out the words you want to use and let the language filter add the ***'s as needed. Thanks)

Not for a top-10 QB in NFL history. That's not even on his list of worthy accomplishments.

I could see bringing the CFL into it if we were making an argument for a guy being signed or something, you know, as a marginal player. But for a HoFer? No freaking way.

Anyway, we're off-topic at this point.

I'll leave it at this but um, do you realize the main reason why he had to go to Canada was because of the racism of the time when it came to black QBs? The only black starting QB in the NFL at the time was Doug Williams and that was mainly because he came into the league onto an expansion franchise so there wasn't much to pick from when it came to QBs.

Everyone and their mother knew Moon was talented but they kept trying to make a WR out of him and he wanted to be a QB. He has said one thing that coaches kept telling or implying was that the QB positional is too cerebral for a black player to play because it would waste their athletic talent.

So I think you can toss that attitude of "oh the CFL stuff shouldn't matter" out the window.

I know why he was in the CFL.

Again, I'm saying that his accomplishments in the CFL don't even come near his accomplishments in the NFL.

That's not a negative. Moon had a great NFL career. What he would've done with those extra years is scary.

I'm one of those people who don't really care about rings in football. Team sport. Even Superbowl rings carry little weight with me. But CFL rings? Whether he had none or five, they mean nothing to me, unless we're arguing greatest CFL players of all-time. Moon is an NFL all-timer, thus listing the CFL rings as a major accomplishment is an insult to his resumé, IMO.

              Barry hands down.

I voted for Emmitt. I really wanted to vote for Earl Campbell. I gave the nod to ES because of his pass catching ability. And his durability.

I love Barry and thought/think he's the greatest of all time. A close second for me would be Jim Brown. The guy was a beast and seems to always be overlooked.
