Re: Report: Quanis Phillips was shot, after confrontation with Vick
Now I'm not the smartest man in the world by any means. But from reading the information presented why is everyone talking about Vick 'not being this stupid?' It clearly says the guy came to the party and he and Vick got into a confrontation.
Why is no one going to what should be the obvious first conclusion to jump to? Michael Vick having a birthday party is obviously something that's going to be common knowledge to people around the town, especially if the party is at a club and especially if the guy knows when Vick's birthday is, isn't hard to check up on what club he may have a party at. He shows up to the party uninvited near the end where he can get to Vick more easily and the confrontation comes from Vick seeing this guy having the balls to show up there. Seriously that should be the first conclusion drawn rather than Vick hanging with his old crew that he isn't supposed to. But maybe I'm just crazy lol.Comment

Vick shouldn't be exposing himself to this kind of problem is the thing here. He isn't free, he's on probation. 5.5 million dollars is at stake. His FREEDOM is at stake.Comment

He wasn't even there when it happened.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.

Re: Report: Quanis Phillips was shot, after confrontation with Vick
I just don't like the idea of telling someone they have to basically stay in they're house and never come out. Michael Vick is Michael Vick. The world we live in dictates that you can get into an altercation ANYWHERE. Vick is a celebrity, he can go to the grocery store and take the last box of Cheerios on the shelf just before some other guy and the guy recoginizes it's Michael Vick, gets in his face about it resulting in security being called. The only thing that's going to be on the headline is Vick get's into altercation at supermarket. Driving to a relative's house someone could hit his car and when he gets out to exchange information there's an altercation. I'm sure people like yourself will still be banging the "put himself in this position" drum. Being a professional athlete should not mean having to give up every right that a human being is entitled to.Comment

First of all, if you're not at your house and someone gets killed you aren't going to be held responsible for that, unless you left a bomb in there. Second of all, you can't hold one person responsible for a group of people getting in a fight with someone when you aren't around, which is why the police aren't charging him with anything and why he isn't being investigated.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. B)The difference is that going to the grocery store doesn't put Michael Vick in a position for people to get shot.
C)When you have alcohol, and gang related people, you are INVITING someone to get shot.Comment

Re: Report: Quanis Phillips was shot, after confrontation with Vick
Problem with that analogy is this wasn't at his house it was at a club for one. For two no you aren't held responsible for someone being killed at your house if you aren't there unless they slip on some ice you haven't cleaned or something else irresponsible like that. You seriously gonna try to tell me if my cousin is staying at my house while I'm out of town for two weeks, when I get home and he's killed somebody he had there (like a girlfriend) I'm going to go to jail and face murder charges? No.Comment

B)The police have not concluded their investigation. So you wouldn't really know what they were and weren't charging him with. Just because he isn't a suspect NOW, doesn't mean he won't be charged once the investigation has concluded.Comment

It was a club that he had rented out for a private party, which makes him responsible for things that happen there.
I will tell you the same thing I told your co-counsel. If they didnt teach you that you can be held responsible for what happens at your house while you aren't there, you should ask for a refund from your law school.
I'm going to tell you that you could be held responsible for ANYTHING that happens in your house if your actions led to that crime happening.Comment
