It's not just the coaching. It's the GM. There are some big holes on that roster. Apparently JJ thought he was building a fantasy team not an NFL team.

Bottom line, as it appears now, Dallas is simply not that good.

Romo is a fine quarterback, but why not try to stack things in his favor, rather than counting on him to be elite? He is not elite, he is above average. He is good enough to win, but even Aikman, one of the best of his generation, wasn't asked to win things on his own.

Good grief, Garret, figure it our already, you clown.
His offense is too simple at times and too complex at times..
Example.. 3rd and one.. Garret runs Austin in motion lines him
up as a RB, Barber is the FB.. Everyone knows its going
to Barber. Why not give Barber a FB and pound the rock.
Why is he trying to trick them? This happened last year against
the chargers, Jones the RB, Barber at FB..

That draw running BS has to go. It seems to me, that defenses
show Dallas a certain look to force a run Audible..

It has been like that for 2 years.. I can not wait for him to
      get fired..

Jerry needs a GM and he will never do it..

Cutting Flozell, Bueller, keeping only 3 Corners.. The list goes on and on..
Looks like Jenkins might be out the rest of this year.

Wait, I guess it's Terrell Owens fault that the Cowboys are stinking it up.

What team was that who was playing against Dallas today because that wasn't the Bears' Offense that I've grown accustomed to seeing all these years?

You guys flat out beat us.. Our D tightened up in the second
half.. But you, beat us fair and square...

I still think the Cowboys D is good.. They had some really good
Hot reads early in the game..Which Hurt us and got us behind the
                  8 ball...

Garrett has got to go.. His scheme is so predictable.. Chicagos
                  LBs knew every run audible...
Phillps, IMO, is your problem. Too much celebrating when your boys got first downs, not putting rookies in their place. All LITTLE things, but all point to just bad leadership. Frankly, our defense SHOULD be good. Save for MIke Brown, it's the same core that went to the Super Bowl, and then we added Pisa and Pep. Our receivers are underrated and Cutler was a Pro Bowler for a reason. The Cowboys do NOT suck. If you had kept the pressure on, I think you would have worn us down eventually. But Martz bit you enough to discourage. THAT is when we won the mind game.

                  GG.

How is it the GM? THey are easily one of the more talented teams in the league. If THIS team was coached by Jeff FIscher or even Gary Kubiak, they would be 2-0 easily. Phillps has always sucked and he will continue to suck. Too many signs of the inmates running the asylum.

They never addressed the offensive line. #1 pick on Dez Bryant? He's a nice player, but did the Cowboys really need another WR? That was their most pressing need? Another Pass catcher?

Their Oline is poor and aging, their front 7 on defense lacks depth and still have far too many guys that don't really fit their position.

In the secondary, you think those safeties start for very many teams in the NFL? Newman and Jenkins are nice, and Scandrick does give them depth.

And last but not least they took a guy that really was never anything more than a kickoff specialist at USC and turned him in to their full time field goal kicker.

If it was a fantasy team and skill players were all that mattered then yes this would be amongst the most talented teams in the league.

I can't knock the Dez Bryant pick at all. He was easily the best WR in the draft, and yes, we needed a receiver and someone that could play on special teams. Roy Williams was an awful pick up, especially for what we gave up. Patrick Crayton was our kick returner and yea, he housed one last year, but he's not a big play guy and he's just an average receiver. Our receiving corps was pretty much Austin-Williams-Crayton-Ogletree-Hurd...pretty weak.

I agree with everything else. I was hoping we'd take a safety in the draft, we've been hurting there since Woodson retired.

I am sorry I just don't see how that was their most pressing need. He was a great prospect, but how many recievers do you need? And now how much of your salary budget is taken up by pass catchers? You're paying Dez #1 money. You just gave Austin a big raise. You just extended and gave a big raise to Roy Williams, and IIRC they just signed Witten to a nice contract not too long ago.

Not a knock on Bryant but I just don't see how that position was a position of need for Dallas. They had much much bigger holes to fill.

It wasn't the most pressing need but it looked more like an opportunity they couldn't refuse.

I got to give credit where credit is due, the Bears coaching staff had a solid game plan against a team that had much more talent than them.

Here is the bad/sad thing if you could see these issues why the hell couldn't the coaching/management of the cowboys see it. I mean the Jerry should have been drafting for offensive line help for the last few years but we take "skill" player after skill player in our drafts.
