Re: NFC Wild Card: Saints @ Seahawks
The Saints don't deserve it. If their kicker didn't miss a FG against Atlanta an if they didn't get taken behind the woodshed by the Bucs then maybe they would have homefield advantage.Comment

...and Seattle lost nine games by 15 or more points. There is no reasonable argument to be made that they more this season than New Orleans did.Comment

Re: NFC Wild Card: Saints @ Seahawks
They did more than New Orleans to get a home game in the playoffs and that can't be argued or disputed.
Again, there is no reason to change anything about it when there is a very, EASY, solution to avoid that:
WIN. YOUR. DIVISION.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: NFC Wild Card: Saints @ Seahawks
Well the way I see it, you should get all the prize and glory when winning your division. Prize = Make the playoffs and home field advantage. If you still manage to make the playoffs then it would be because you are a wildcard entry and as a wildcard team, you should receive the leftovers and just be happy you're in the playoffs.Comment

Re: NFC Wild Card: Saints @ Seahawks
Umm I really don't care that this was a road game as said previously cause we should have won either way but failed to. But this statement can be argued, so having a 7-9 record is doing more then New Orleans who had a 11-5 record?Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: NFC Wild Card: Saints @ Seahawks
11 wins > 7 wins.
See how easy?
If the two teams had equal records, sure. But when one team was four games better than the other, that team should have home field advantage.Comment

Re: NFC Wild Card: Saints @ Seahawks
This is a circular argument. The argument that the Saints are SO MUCH BETTER than the Seahawks and shouldn't have homefield advantage is negated by the fact the Seahawks won.
So then you say well the Seahawks wouldn't have won in NOLA. Ok, but if the Saints were SO MUCH BETTER, they could've won on the road, as everyone expected them to.
The only time homefield advantage matters is when both teams could conceivably win.
There is no way Seattle should have won this game no matter where it was played.
New Orleans didn't show up.Comment

Re: NFC Wild Card: Saints @ Seahawks
New Orleans did show up...and they got beat. It's not like they are some juggernaut looking team that's on a tear ala the Patriots. If you learned anything from watching the NFL this season is that every team can beat any team. Its a league of parity right now an frankly the Seahawks are much more comfortable playing at home, its been like that for years with them.
I really hope they don't change anything at all regarding the playoffs. You earn homefield by winning your division.Comment

Re: NFC Wild Card: Saints @ Seahawks
In a sport where you don't play a series of games to decide who advances in the postseason the importance of home field is magnified. Awarding any sort of advantage based on something as arbitrary as winning a division makes a mockery of the regular season.Last edited by coogrfan; 01-09-2011, 12:21 AM.Comment

Another case of fixing something that ain't broken and doesn't need improvements.#RespectTheCultureComment

Come on, now you're just overreacting about this.#RespectTheCultureComment
