This was ... unbelievable. I'm still in shock. Absolutely amazing game, and just ... wow. Lynch's run was beyond amazing. Just when I thought the run couldn't get any better, it just kept going and going.

On Hasselbeck - All the geniuses that were crying for Charlie Whitehurst around the Seattle area are idiots. All Whitehurst did in the Rams game was not screw up. He didn't do anything that well. I've said that Hasselbeck gives us the best chance to win, and he absolutely proved it. We don't win this game with Whitehurst at QB. He doesn't make the amazing throws that Hasselbeck did.

I know lots of people around here were thinking the Seahawks would win, but for the folks in the media and all that who thought we had no place in the playoffs -- suck it.

      What.The.****.Saints.

Seriously. No, seriously. W-What happened? Shame on you for making everyone look like idiots.

But wow, that defense was brutal. 8 missed tackles on the Lynch run (which was effing amazing btw). And Roman Harper is just laugh out loud terrible. He shouldn't even be allowed on the plane back to New Orleans. Leave his bum *** in Seattle.

Props to the 'Hawks though. I didn't think they had a chance in hell at pulling this off, much less when they were down 10-0 and the Saints scoring 36 points in the entire game. Even though their defense allowed a ton of points, they were flying all over the place and made some really big stops at certain points in the game. Hasselbeck played ridiculous too.

      Great first night of playoffs.

Think about this: the Seahawks just beat the Saints in a shootout. WTF?!?!

That Marshawn Lynch run was one for the ages. My buds and I were neutral and just watchin the game to watch it. But when Lynch made that run, one would've thought we were seahawks fans by the way we jumped off the sofa and cheered. Awesome stuff. Glad I witnessed it.

I'll chime in, it was enjoyable to watch an NFL game in which I had no rooting interest in either team. It turned out to be one of the most exciting NFL playoff games I've ever seen.

I admit towards the end of the game (and before that beast mode run) I started to pull a little for the Seahawks.

Either way, great and fun game to watch, glad I saw it. The Saints showed up, it's just that their defense didn't.

So was this Marshawn Lynch's coming out party? I thought that run was amazing, and Lynch breaking off a run like that was something I thought we would've seen on a regular basis since coming into the NFL.

I always liked his ability to run and brush off tacklers.

See...I don't think the Saints losing was all that far-fetched. I mean they've NEVER won a road playoff game in the history of their franchise. All their games en route to a SB berth were at home, and the SB is more/less a neutral site.

Had Whitehurst started and the Hawks put up these numbers would be one thing, but w/ Hasslebeck behind center and the Hawks being at home I thought that the Hawks had a good chance of winning this one.

Do any Saints fans think that Chris Ivory's loss was a big factor? Jones and Bush definitely were not capable of carrying the rushing load...

I was at the game, and the crowd was crazy... but when Lynch rumbled for that big run, jesus man, it was something else.

Chris Ivory was a big loss he plays and maybe we have more consistent drives idk. Still can't blame the offense they still put up 36 points and Brees put up 400 yds by himself, hopefully that's something Brees can build on for a more efficient season next year. The defense was unacceptable, only Vilma and Patrick Robinson looked to be aggressive at all.

I said this earlier in the thread that losing Ivory would be big. First game against the Saints, Ivory tore us up. Nobody could tackle him. I don't think anything would've changed this time around if he was playing. He still would've powered through tackles and gotten better production in the running game, I think.

Well, the Saints were a bottom of the barrel franchise for much of their history. Their inception was 1966 and they didn't win their first playoff game until the 1999 season.

But with this regime, I wouldn't put too much stock in never having won a road playoff game to what happened yesterday, or as any kind of predictor in future road layoff games.

Lynch played pretty good for a terrible Bills team his first couple of years before he had some off-field issues. From all my time watching him (his time with the Bills and that game yesterday), I've always seen Lynch as a very skilled RB. He's an absolute bruiser but he also has good footwork and quickness between the tackles. That run yesterday was pretty much perfect. Switching the ball to the other hand at the right times, the perfect stiff-arm and hesitate move he did on Porter, the way he kept his feet moving as he was getting tripped up. Lynch is a good running back. He just needs them to get solid run blocking for him to really make a difference, which it looks like Seattle is slowly starting to get.
