I dont know how people see the Broncos winning more than 6 games.

I just want the Chargers to win a Superbowl.
      *le sigh

Anyway, I voted for the Pats.

I actually think the Broncos are going to surprise some people this year. I easily see them winning at least six, and I'd probably put the over/under at 8.

                I don't think there's a chance in hell they hit 8 wins.

We'll see... that's what makes this fun.

They aren't as bad as their record last year. McDaniels lost that team. The offense is pretty much intact with good additions in McGahee and Orlando Franklin. On the other side of the ball Elvis is back, plus Von Miller is looking like the real deal - so is Rahim Moore at safety. I think they will still struggle against the run, but they are headed in a good direction under Fox.

I think eight wins is within reach.

I like the direction they're going in too, but here's my questions:

                    1. How long will the whole Tebow thing be a distraction?
                    2. Can Brandon Lloyd put up another great season?
                    3. Will that rookie WR from last year with the last name Williams whose first name I can't spell step up?
                    4. Will Knowshown Moreno make the leap into being a great RB?
                    5. Can Kyle Orton put up TDs in the redzone?
                    6. Can Champ Bailey continue to lock people down, or will his age show?
                    7. Can Dumervil stay healthy?
                    8. Can the rest of the defense step it up?

Tebow won't be a distraction if they're winning games (even if it's 2-2, 2-3, hovering around .500) and Orton is playing like he did last year.

Lloyd doesn't need to put up the season he had last year (and there's no chance of it btw). Fox's offense will be more focused on running, and they have 2 young WRs that should take a step forward... and hopefully Royal will get back on track again.

Moreno and Willis sharing the load is solid. Fox knows how to run the ball... and with two backs. This won't be the second coming of Deangelo and Stewart but we're only making a case for 8 wins here. They're capable.

Orton doesn't have to score more TDs in the redzone, the team does. With more dedication to the running game and a better running game, they should.

Time will tell on Champ and Dumervil and your last question is directly related to that (these are probably the real keys to their season).

Which teams do you think they can beat on their schedule though? Looking at it, I think they'll be somewhere between 4-7 wins. I could honestly see them starting off the year 3-0 or 2-1, but after that it's going to be a big time struggle, and I just don't know if they have the caliber players to win games. We'll see, but Moreno and Willis is a question mark, Lloyd is a question mark, Dumervil's health is a question mark, Von Miller is a question mark, Champ Bailey's age is a question mark. There's a lot of things that can easily go wrong for them and they don't have a very easy schedule playing the Chargers twice, Chiefs twice, Raiders twice, Packers, Lions, Jets, Bears, and Patriots.

                          Fair questions...here are my responses:

                          1. I don't think the Tebow thing is a distraction within the Broncos locker room. There is an unbelievable amount of media and fan hype surrounding this but it doesn't penetrate the locker room walls. I'm not a huge Orton fan, but the Broncos are handling this the right way. The worst thing they could do is pull the trigger on a trade when there is not enough information to make decision.

                          2. Lloyd is amazing. The body control that cat posseses is unreal. He'll have another good season, but it may be toned down a bit because Denver is going to focus on running the ball more.

                          3. I'm not sure who you are talking about here. Main rookie WR's from last year were Thomas, Decker, and Willis. None of them contributed greatly. Decker will this year. Thomas is hurt and will be back midseason. Willis should be the 4th or 5th receiver.

                          4. Moreno....Ugh. I keep expecting him to break out and he hasn't done it yet. I don't know on this guy. He's lighter and appears much quicker, but he has a tough time running inbetween the tackles. He's got to be a back that can hit a homerun every now and again. I think complementing him with McGahee will help. Denver's O-line will be better. Orlando Franklin is a beast.

                          5. This is one of the reasons that I have a problem with Orton. I am tired of hearing about how many yards he throws for because it doesn't matter if it doesn't translate into points...preferably touchdowns. The running game will help this year, but Orton definitely needs to step it up not only in the red-zone, but also on third downs. After watching him so far this year, I think he will. Denver's first string offense looks crisp so far, but it's only preseason.

                          6. Champ hasn't lost a step and is arguably the best player on the team. Denver will actually move him to nickle in certain situations and I think he'll make a difference. This doesn't mean he will be strictly a nickle back, but rather they will move him from corner to nickle in passing situations. Look for Champ to make a lot of plays this year.

                          7. You never know, but Doom looks strong and fast. Between Miller and Doom, Denver is going to have a much needed pass rush (finally).

                          8. The defensive line still concerns me a bit. Robert Ayers isn't looking like first round talent, and the rest of the line (minus Doom) is made up of first and second round cast-offs from other teams (Bunkley, Harvey, Jarmon....). Hopefully they come with something to prove. I still feel Denver's D will struggle against the run. They will be better, and I honestly believe they will be a middle-of-the-road defensive team this year and not the absolute embarrassment that they were last year.

Fox is awesome. Players love him. It's such a refreshing change from the tyranny brought by McDaniels. They are turning it around.

Every year teams come out of nowhere, and this year it could be Denver.

Regarding the rookie WR, I was talking about Thomas. I don't know why but I always think his last name is Williams for some reason lol. I've made that mistake like 10 times and I still haven't learned, and he was even on my fantasy team for a week or two after he had that big game last year.

I like John Fox too, and I hope for the best for Denver, and I agree that Dumervil is a monster when he's healthy, but it feels like he's been hurt a lot now (not sure if it was just last year, but it seems like more). I'm glad John Fox is out of my division now (Bucs fan); I just don't really believe that the Broncos are capable of 8 wins this year, but I think hiring Fox is a step in the right direction. And I used to love Kyle Orton back when he was in Chicago, but something about the way he's played lately has kinda turned me off and I don't know why because statistically, he seems to be getting better (maybe he needs to bring the neck beard back and then I'll like him again lol). We'll see, but the AFC West is quietly becoming a tough division, especially if Jason Campbell plays worth a damn for the Raiders this year.

Yeah, Damarius Thomas is a beast....he just can't stay healthy. Another Thomas Denver has that you'll hear about is Julius Thomas #80. He has a lot of potential and could be Denver's next great TE.

Dumervil will be fine. He's really only had that torn pectoral from a year ago. I don't see him having anymore problems...at least related to that.

I've been a Bronco fan for longer than I care to say. I watch every game, but at the same time I'm a realist. I just don't think they are as bad as people think. People look at their record from last year and automatically assume that's where they will be again this year. I'm saying that they are better and you'll see that this year. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they win eight or more games.

Good luck with your Bucs this year! That's definitely an intriguing young team with losts of upside.
