Re: Official 2011 NFL Predictions Thread

I will only make two predictions.

The Browns are a lock to finish in 3rd.

The Bungles are a lock to pick 1st.

We'll see, but Moreno and Willis is a question mark, Lloyd is a question mark, Dumervil's health is a question mark, Von Miller is a question mark, Champ Bailey's age is a question mark. There's a lot of things that can easily go wrong for them and they don't have a very easy schedule playing the Chargers twice, Chiefs twice, Raiders twice, Packers, Lions, Jets, Bears, and Patriots.
Can't look at the schedule and really say. The Skins beat the Packers last year... Bears too if I'm not mistaken (and who thought the Bears would win that division last year? What about the Chiefs?). Most teams in the NFL are REALLY close with the difference being inconsistency and/or stepping up in big moments... and of course, injuries to key players and lack of depth. At this point, with everyone healthy, there's no reason not to think the Broncos can win 8 games. Hell, give them a healthy Dumervil and I bet they win 8 games last year. Of the teams you listed, even though I don't believe it will happen, they could EASILY split with every team in their division. In fact, the only teams you listed I'd put money on beating them (with no spread) are the Packers, Jets and Pats.

I personally predict they'll win between 6-8 games. I don't see them only winning 4 without some serious injuries (and Dumervil was only hurt last year... I don't know of a history of injury).

Super Bowl prediction Philadelphia Eagles over New England Patriots. Yes I know the pre-season Dream team match ups rarely ever happens but with 2 great organizations like these I really think they are primed to make a great run.

Sleeper Teams That May Shock People and Screw Up My Picks:

            AFC: Browns or Broncos
            NFC: Lions or Redskins

Note: Broncos sleeper pick is not a homer pick. I really believe that Orton is a good QB and if the defense can stop run they will have a shot.

Browns pick is very simple if Colt McCoy can be consistent and protect the ball the have a shot. Only concern is a tough 4 games against Steelers and Ravens.

Lions: Stafford must stay healthy. But I believe defense will be strong so even if Stafford gets hurt, whatever QB takes over needs to just manage the game and keep defense out of back situations.

Redskins: Obviously QB controversy which they need to put to rest before season before it lingers into regular season and becomes a distraction. Their defense should be strong and Hightower it's Shannahan's zone running offense. Hightower gets North/South quick and doesn't dance.

Haha, I based that whole list off of my gut feeling(s). I thought that last year was going to be the year that Jacksonville won the AFC South, but I think being that close will make them hungrier this year and that they'll finally put everything together and win the division and make the playoffs.

I only have two predictions: The Eagles will miss the playoffs & the Texans will win the AFC South.

I'll keep my Super Bowl picks the same as last year and again go with Green Bay over Baltimore.

Last season I picked the Packers to play the Ravens in the Super Bowl. I was half right.

This season I still think the Packers will play the Ravens in the Super Bowl, with the Ravens winning.
