So after two weeks you are proclaiming him as a savior and now you're saying this week was just a hiccup.

    Sounds about right.

Regarding the hit on Roethlisberger...I thought it was illegal to go for the legs on a QB?

No defensive player who has an unrestricted path to the quarterback may hit him flagrantly in the area of the knee(s) or below when approaching in any direction.

It looks like he tripped over and threw himself to hit Ben. I can see how that could look accidental in regular speed.

I'm sure the league will look into it this week.

It's not accidental how he was grabbing for him though; it's one thing if he loses his feet/balance but he was nearly crab walking his way to Ben.

To your main point though...I am very interested to see if the league fines the STL player over the non-call.

          I hope it's nothing major for Ben...hopefully nothing more than a hyper-extension.

Lol I was riding Fitzpatrick since before the last two weeks . I just didn't post it on here. I probably look foolish but oh well...

I like his off the field personality so I will continue to root for him. He seems like a good, clean , wholesome guy in a league full of bad guys.

Carr is turning out to be the best QB from last year's draft by quite a margin so far. Don't really see much improvement from Bridgewater so far this year, who I'd put in the number 2 spot.

We're coming back. I can see the bandwagoners buying Raiders' gear and saying they're loyal fans...

These guys wouldn't support the team when we had to watch Jamarcus, Jason Campbell and other horrible players.

It's the same thing that happened with the Seahawks

I'm no Raiders fan but let me state for the record that before this season I said that the Raiders would win the AFC West. I can't remember if I said it on here as well but let the record show that if this happens I should get some kind of credit LOL

Just kidding on the credit part but it'd be great to see the Raidahs back on top again.

I don't think we'll win the division this year, but it could happen.

Personally, i just want to see the team developing through the season, establishing a strong base, and making the playoffs next year.

Hype can mess players' development, and i hope fans don't dream too much.

If I remember right, there's nothing wrong with grabbing for a QB's legs. It's the act of lunging toward their legs which creates the penalty. Barron looked like he tripped and just fell forward and happened to go into the QB; he didn't direct his fall into the QB. He didn't start reaching until he already hit Ben.

                        Yeah, sorry, you look foolish.

There's nothing wrong with cheering for his success because you like him as a person. But success means different things to different people. He's a starting QB in the NFL... that's a success (ask Tebow, another who get's too much love leaked over to his football skills). When we're talking starting QBs though, he is not very good. It's graded on a curve, and he is in the lower tier in that regard. It's okay... but it does make you look foolish when you try to convince yourself that his great personality means he's a great QB.

They probably already started buying gear again after Straight Outta Compton came out.

I haven't checked the exact wording, but pretty much every flag I've seen has come with players doing exactly what happened here. I don't think it was malicious but it definitely seemed illegal.

I wasn't sure how much to trust Derek Carr with how much that 5.4 YPA attempt stat kept getting thrown out there, and week one didn't leave me with a good feeling. I've been pleased these past two weeks, especially since he isn't being hidden by a run game.

You can't go unobstructed to the legs of a QB. If you are blocked and that caused you to go low/to the ground then you are fine to hit them low. As he was on the ground, the hit was legal and shouldn't be fined.

NFL may still fine him as the result was Ben getting injured as they want to remove all injuries from a violent game.

Raiders should shoot for 8-8, then improve more next season. I'm obviously glad they won, but they played like crap for much of that game, particularly on defense. Felt like Cleveland converted every 3rd and long they faced. Should have been a 20 point blow out, but they are clearly still learning how to win.

Fans shoot for a final record, Raiders will take it one game at a time I expect. A lot of building blocks in place, remains to be seen what they can build with them. Finally a decent coaching situation for them too so a lot of reason for optimism.
