He's far from "on fire". He's been solid to pretty good at home vs the Bucs (2nd half), Eagles, Giants, Rams, and Saints. 11 TDs to 2 Ints with ~70% completion % but on the road he has really struggled, 5 TDs - 8 Ints with ~61%. He's struggled with his accuracy at times and because of his turnover rate, he's been a little apprehensive to try to make plays. He is what he is, a middle of the road QB and will probably get paid accordingly.

Re: NFL Off Topic
I doubt he gets overpaid, by Scot McCloughan. He seems to have plan and sticks to it. If they keep him Cousins will probably get a nice team friendly 4 year deal with most of the upfront money being from a signing bonus.Moderator

Re: NFL Off Topic
I don't think Cousins gets overpaid but I could see a short term deal for him with a definite chance to come into camp next year as the presumptive starter. Honestly, Cousins seems to be a tweener guy to me in that he's almost too good to be a backup but doesn't quite have enough skillset to be a starter. In a lot of ways he seems to be a Steve DeBerg type, a skilled guy who can do a great job in the short term but never really given a chance long term and when he gets that chance he gets overthrown by a bigger name QB.
(Fun fact: DeBerg had three starting jobs in the NFL and got dethroned by 3 HOF'ers (Montana, Elway, Young and Montana again in KC))Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

So...is it inevitable Blandino will go away and a retired official will take his place?Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.

Re: NFL Off Topic
In a perfect world the NFL should suspend officials, but in reality the turnover in officials is so great that there is already a shortage of qualified refs. 19% of active NFL officials have less than two years of on the job experience. Who are you going to replace a suspended officiating crew with?Comment

They should probably hire more refs under 60 years old and on the cusp of retiring. I never understand why these refs are so old.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Because it's a part-time job. If you're a young guy with a family and a job, how are you supposed to ref NFL games on the side? Just another reason they need to make the change to full time status.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Current refs aren't going to go full time, so think the NFL has been hiring a lot more so that they can eventually have most of them FT or at least have a few FT in each crew to try and increase consistency, in theory.
