I mean he isn't Russell Wilson, or Cam Newton level as far as athletic feats go but I'd be hard pressed to find Kirk Cousins making plays like this.

I don't think anyone was claiming that Brees was not athletic.

But it was an odd comparison to make. Some guy says Cousins is the next Bress, and the counter to that is that Brees is way more athletic as if the athleticism is what he is known for.

Brees is known for his accuracy and mechanics.

Which is why I find the comparison kinda funny. If you watch Cousins struggle it's his accuracy and mechanics that go out the window. Watch the Jets game for example. He couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat.

Drew Brees can make all the throws. Can you really say the same thing about Cousins?

By the way, I think an even worse comparison is when you compare Russell Wilson to Drew Brees. I used to hear that comparison all the time when Wilson was first drafted. Lol any undersized qb will always be compared to Brees.

As a person who dislocated and had a 360 degree tear of their labrum...it's something you can never understand until you experience it yourself. I hope nobody here does.

Brees had that + a slight tear of the rotator cuff.

The fact he came back from this injury is astounding to me. It helps to have 6 hours of rehab a day and it's your job...but still.

I had 9 anchors in my shoulder...which is an insane amount to put in. Brees had f'n 12! From my discussions with doctors...2-4 is what most get.

What kind of anchors are they putting in your shoulder, ND?

              Some kind of metal rod?

I don't think Drew is quite the scrambler Wilson is. Wilson throws fewer interceptions, also. But alot of people say Wilson is overrated because his team's have had great defenses every year and make him look alot better than he is. I have never heard that said about Brees.

The ability to make all the throws is not what most think about when they think of athleticism.

I'd say the ability to make all the throws is a function of Drew's footwork in the pocket and accuracy.

So good footwork is not a function of athleticism?

In the strictest sense everything a football player does is a function of athleticism.

But because nearly every QB has the necessary athleticism needed for footwork then no, good footwork is viewed as being separate from athleticism.

If you wish to argue that Tom Brady is the most athletic QB in the NFL feel free to do so.

Man, the ineptitude of special teams and defensive players to simply fall on a loose ball, as opposed to flailing around and knocking the ball out of bounds, is amazing. Lol.
