I know it's the media's job to report these things, and Manziel's name is an easy sell for any media outlet, but I wish they would give it a rest. We're watching from the sidelines as a great young talent wrecks his career and life. We all know people like him who struggle with drugs/alcohol, and getting help and staying clean is hard enough as it is. But to have the world watch and comment as you crash and burn is like insult to injury.

Unfortunately, his fame giveth... and now it shall taketh. Meanwhile, a kid with half the talent but a million times the work ethic and discipline can't get a scholarship because he had to drop out of school to provide for his brothers and sisters while his parents search for their next fix. Life is cruel and we're not all given the same chances. Some make the best, some make the worst.
    Exactly.

It'd be one thing if he didn't have people advising him to chill out on the partying and/or drinking and focus on how you're going to make some money next year and going forward. But he has people, family included, that has warned him repeatedly what could happen if he continues down this path.

For those that care, Brady and the NFL are back in court tomorrow for what is hopefully the final nail in the coffin in the deflategate controversy.

Doubt it. We could be waiting until summer or fall for a decision. A combined $20 million spent by both sides fighting this thing. Absurd.

Looks like Manning just got a huge credible witness supporting him in the allegations.

A lot of new info on his accuser too. She's had 3 lawsuits since 2003 trying to get money. Phone message left for the Mannings the week before Super Bowl threatening to leak documents ? Interesting.

Hm....I'm betting Shaun King got used here....Well, looks like she isn't as innocent as original reports indicated.

I'm not even going to play like I don't enjoy saying told ya so to some of you guys who acted like this was a clear cut situation after only reading the facts of the case written by her lawyers (or even just an article on it written by a questionable journalist).

              I told ya so.

**Full disclaimer** Peyton totally teabagged her btw. He is just not responsible for her career going down the crapper

Why does Peyton's witness hold more weight than the trainer's?

I'd ask this in reverse for the people who blindly accepted the trainer's version a few weeks ago.

Edit: To answer the question though:

This is the only blemish on Peyton's record in 20 years. And his story has never changed. The trainer's story changed from 1996 (she made no mention of being tea bagged then) to 2003 (when she claimed she was tea bagged). And, from reading the SI piece (and one in the Washington Post last week) she's filed at least three lawsuits along with numerous other complaints - most of which turned out to be unfounded.

                    Washington Post story: https://www.washingtonpost.com/sport...3e8_story.html

I'll admit I'm naturally biased toward Peyton. I won't rule out that he intentionally tea bagged her, because I don't know what happened. But there's enough holes in her credibility and enough history with Peyton to make me think his version is closer to the truth.

But his story did change. He originally said he didn't do anything, then changed it to him mooning a teammate.

His teammate that has been identified even tells a different story, saying that Peyton barely pulled his pants down.

This is all even more clouded than before to me, now. It's he said, she said, so the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

Agree completely. It's almost always that way.

After the Virginia hoax, the Patrick Kane nonsense, all the other garbage stories over the years, all the other attention-getting crap that gets floated around in the last few years, and this "always believe the accuser!" narrative that gets pushed by so many now, I barely have any real reason to believe these stories as presented.

                            ^that's understandable.

                            I don't think that's the case here.

It was totally a **** move, though, but what he "did" is not nearly as troubling as the fallout he, at least in part, orchestrated.

Reading what he has to say about TO, leads me to beleive Marvin Harrison probably shot that guy those years back.....TO better cross the street when he sees Marvin coming.

“I’m not concerned about, you know, T.O. Not one bit. I was concerned about myself. I wasn’t worried about splitting the vote with anyone. That was it.

“The person who was supposed to get in got in. And that was me. If he didn’t get in, that’s his problem. He can talk all that other bull**** like he’s been doing. That’s on him. But I’m in. My jacket is gold. I will look in the rear view for nobody.

“So he can get his *** in whenever he gets in … if he gets in. If he doesn’t get in too bad. The hell with him.”
