Concussions in soccer are actually on the rise which led to the US Soccer Federation to ban kids 10 and under from heading the ball. But yeah, I'd still rather have them play soccer from an early age.

Playing soccer for thirteen years I can definitely tell you (thanks for bringing this up) I can't remember how many times I have headed the ball and felt "off" afterwards. Especially after launching yourself into a horizontal position while your head connects with the ball.

I can also tell you that I got kicked in the head and face a lot playing keeper diving for loose balls. Soccer isn't as harmless as these parents think it is.

Well the "safety" of soccer is only a small sliver of why I'd put them in there or baseball.

I played goalie in HS and you're spot on. Even other positions get shots to the head. Could say the same thing about lacrosse and, of course, hockey. Like I said before, getting in front of this thing is great, but it's reckless making great leaps on what we know about football without proper comparison to other sports and a baseline of normal life.

I played keeper in HS too. Alright! Soccer could just simply ban headers in the future and that would cut down on a lot of head trauma. The NFL can't pass a simple rule like that which is the problem. Though, since KG brought it up, I was thinking today about how my brain isn't as fast working as it used to be. Now, I am only 30 but I wonder if it's from all the headshots I took or if it is just from me getting older. Though I definitely know for sure where my two bad knees come from.

So according to the Lions president, not only are they getting a color rush jersey this year (like everyone else), they'll have a different color rush uni in 2017.

Agreed, but the problem isn't about which sports can make adequate adjustments and which can't. The problem is that football is the only one getting vilified for this, and subsequently, the only one with any research at all. Soccer isn't going to ban headers because nobody is even considering soccer as a problem (not that I think they should or shouldn't, but if this is so serious we should be doing proper research across the board).

As for your memory, I can only speak for myself but a combination of age and alcohol have played a very, very large role.

Soccer doesn't get as much publicity about it here, but there is definitely discussion in the medical realm about concussions in soccer. The concussions aren't as violent as football, but the repeated micro-concussive hits from headers is known.

I interviewed years ago for a job related to concussions and every doctor in the group was talking about how many kids they worked with that played soccer.

Mark Davis was in Vegas today touring the 35k seat Sam Boyd Stadium where UNLV plays, thought to be considered an interim playing field while a potential 65k seat stadium is built.

Of course this is just a charade to keep some semblance of pressure on Oakland, but that's still apparently nonexistent we'll see how far they really take things.

I'm a Chiefs fan, but if by some miracle ANY NFL team ends up here in my lifetime I'd jump at the chance to get season tickets for myself and my family. Just don't think now is that time.

So tired of all this supposed leveraging. Oakland could give a damn if he tours every college stadium in America, that city/state isn't paying for a new stadium. Raiders and A's will still be in that dump 10 years from now lol.

Yes, but every time I get to see Mark Davis it is a win for my self-esteem.

Facebook drops out of bidding for rights to stream NFL games. They wanted to stream ad-free and didn't want the London games. According to a Bloomberg report.

Crazy thing about Mark Davis is that I was watching a '95 Raiders/Chiefs game and he was in the box with his father. He pretty much had the same hairstyle then.

Kudos to sticking with such a doofus look for so long.
