    Re: NFL Off Topic

From a couple of the things his lawyer said today this does have the makings of an incident where at first blush we're missing a lot of details.

Fuller said his client not only was the first to call 911, but that Hayes also waited for police to arrive and "secured a witness who was about to leave the scene" after the shooting.

A lot of other hail marys thrown for his client today... suggesting toxicology will paint a different picture of the scene, that the shooter wasn't the aggressor and that he was trying to follow a vehicle that first rear-ended him.

How all of that adds up to shooting two people and trying to mitigate a murder charge remains to be seen. A husband and father is dead, a tragedy regardless of the details.

      Lawyers gonna Lawyer I suppose.

That said, there are a lot of details the public doesn't have yet or will have for some time.

RIP to Smith. Regardless of motive, this is a sad and senseless. Smith apparently wanted to be an FBI agent as a post-football career.

I wish the best for Smith's family. I hope the Saints honor him in the best way possible.

Stupid offseason junk. OBJ is a beast. Gilmore is one of the top CB's in the game. Two grown men feuding across social media platforms. Cool guys.

I know what you mean, but thinking it through I don't know what else I'd expect him to do... the "previous age" people would've just watched from their window. He did call 911.

If you're familiar with the horrible incident in Fells Point in Feb, when the guy ended up driving on the sidewalk, hitting a few businesses and running over a woman, the video the guy took from inside one of the buildings was very helpful. I guess I'm okay with him going to get his phone.

With that said, I didn't think anything he said in that interview was very helpful.

I think he has mentioned the FBI thing before. Apparently he was finishing up his MBA, was going to be officially announced for the Saints HOF next month, and was planning to serve as an intern on the Saints coaching staff.

Sad to see someone with such a bright future, no matter the age, be taken away. Seemed like he had big plans for his post playing career. Even sadder is the family he now leaves behind.

DFS to be regulated and legal in Minnesota.

                              From the tweet:

                              - verify participants are 18
                              - bar atheletes and officials from effectively betting on themselves
                              - post information about how to deal w/ compulsive behavior
                              - let players voluntarily ban themselves for a fixed period of time
                              - separate players' accounts from sites' operating cash and maintan a reserve
                              - block scripting and proxy servers players could use to gain an advantage

Just passed the house there, not sure if there are barriers preventing it from being passed or hitting the books.
