@ SPTO - I thought for the longest time McDonough was the guy that said the line "Touch 'em all, Joe!" but turns out it was Tom Cheek. Just learned that today. It's not like Tirico just breathes excitement either so I think that type of pick probably would be a fairly smooth transition.

It would be awesome if they got Gus Johnson though.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Gus Johnson ran his course and wore thin on me at least 5 years ago. No thanks.

I've seen current and past football broadcasts done by him and he rarely if ever gets overly excited. Chucky is gonna have to work his *** off to make the broadcasts interesting from that standpoint.
Do you think the same could've been said about Pat Summeral years ago? Just curious, you're the go to historical guy here lol

              LOL thanks for the compliment.

Summerall was actually pretty entertaining in a low key fashion. Before he worked with Summerall he worked with Tom Brookshier and they were heavy drinking buddies. They'd oftentimes bring that with them into the booth. It didn't effect them too much though there were times where you could tell both guys were under the influence. The key to Summerall's success was that he often let his color guy run wild but reign them in when he had to. That's why he worked so well with Madden. Summerall would call it plainly while Madden would go on his spiel. Summerall would sometimes even encourage it by picking on something that would get Madden going.

Sometimes it would lead to rather terrible banter but more often than not it would be entertaining and sound like two guys having fun. Tirico and McDonough both have that low key style but I don't think they set up their color guy nearly as well as Summerall did. Mcdonough does it slightly better mainly because his partner for the majority of the last few years (Matt Millen) has based his broadcasting style very much on Madden whereas Gruden tries to be more of an X's and O's guy without some of the quirkiness of Madden.

Anywho, if McDonough is the replacement on MNF than it isn't going to be too bad of a transition but his style is even more staid than Summerall IMO.

So if the Las Vegas Stadium plan is approved on Thursday Mark Davis will officially seek to move the Raiders to Las Vegas, reportedly:

The Oakland Raiders are one step away from moving to Las Vegas

The 8am Thursday meeting is the financial approval bit. This is where everything will fall apart.

Even if it passes, and Mark Davis pledges to move the team, don't the owners still have the power to veto the move?

8 can take the hit and oppose the move, he needs 24 to say yes.

Cautiously optimistic the stadium will happen, closest we've ever been to getting one, less optimistic the Raiders move though.

I'm in for 2-3 season tickets if they do though!

A Chiefs fan excited about the Raiders coming to town?

I cannot imagine a world where I would consider buying season tickets if the Bengals, Browns or Ravens were moving here. That's blasphemy.

Heck, I won't take free Texans tickets if it means I'll miss the Steelers game on TV.

That is one game guaranteed each year he can get tickets to a Chiefs game.

Edit: buying season tickets is blasphemy though.

Not really, pick some games to go to that aren't played at the same time and sell the remaining tickets, can pretty much make up what you paid for the season by selling the rest.

A LAs Vegas teams would likely play their home games in the late slot and the Chiefs generally play in the early slot (at home).

If I lived in Vegas I'd buy a couple seats, go whenever the Bears played there, and profit from selling to the wave of out-of-towners that will be making Vegas their annual away trip.
