Re: NFL Off Topic
Steelers acquire Justin Gilbert from the Browns for a 6th round pick. Strange to see these two teams making a trade but a pretty low-risk move for the Steelers.
It sounds like Gilbert wasn't seeing playing time in his first two years because of being late and being a general PITA. The Cleveland staff had praised his work ethic this year though so who knows?Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Looks like Vegas infrastructure committee will endorse a proposal to increase the room tax .8% ($1 extra on a $109 hotel room) this week to fund the $750m 'public' portion of the stadium costs. The remaining amount will come from Oakland/NFL ($500m) and the developers ($650m + all overruns).
After that it will require a special session of the Nevada legislature to approve the tax increase and if done the Raiders need a few months to prepare the proposal for the NFL to be presented and voted on in January/February.
The stadium if it's built will be located either just west or just south of Mandalay Bay at the end of the Strip.Last edited by mestevo; 09-06-2016, 02:19 AM.Comment

NFL Off Topic
Someone asked about storylines most looking forward to this season in here or somewhere in the NFL forums.
I think I found mine. Siemian at QB for the Broncos. The statistical bar isn't exactly high, and I think Kubiak's offense can make a QB look good. We all know about their defense, not sure what their OL is looking like though. Seems we've all written Denver off with Oakland and KC getting a lot of preseason love, but I think the Broncos will stay competitive and steal a WC spot (much to the chagrin of other playoff-starved fan bases). I like that whole division to be pretty dang competitive, though because of that it'll probably only take 10 games to win it.
I know we have some Broncos fans here: what's your take? I feel like this scenario of a 7th round, 2nd year guy QB'ing the defending champs is getting no ink even with the NFL opener looming in 48 hours.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

I think it's because we found out they could play a no-armed statue at QB and still win the Super Bowl.Comment
