An article I read from the Charlotte Observer detailed the extra statements I think. It, to me, was definitely not worse and better if you believe it. He basically said he thinks the media don't know anything so he really meant more as a reporter than as a woman. Take it or leave it as to whether you believe that was what he meant, but when she said he made it worse I was expecting something like "What do you think I meant? Women don't know sports, get back to baking." or some **** like that.

I wish her Twitter response was Cam's old response flipped. "I'm a female reporter that scares people because they haven't seen anything that they can compare me to."

Maybe he would've seen the irony.

Thanks for the added context to the situation as I did wonder what exactly he said. If he hadn't called her out as a female specifically it'd still be bad but not nearly so.

I'm sure that to some extent his views on reporters being dumb is reflective throughout the league for the most part.

Really wish I could read you to filth for this. Calling out her hypocritical behavior and insensitive comments is not attacking her, especially after I have already said Cameron does not get a pass for what he said.

You call out Cameron for his inappropriate/sexist comments, then turn around and downplay Jourdan's inappropriate/racially insensitive comments.

I don’t think it’s that big of a deal in the end. He’ll catch heat for it, but we’ll move on. It was definitely wrong of him to say and the way he said it was pretty insulting, but other than that meh. Just another thing to add onto the list of proof that Cam’s immature, which if that’s the worst thing he is then I don’t care too much. Still a big fan of him.

I don't think we can equivocate something Cam said publicly in a press conference with some random tweets from a nobody college student (?) from years ago.

As far as the Cam comments, in a vacuum it may not be a big deal, but this is far from the first incident he's had in a similar vein. Unfortunate.

It was a dumb comment that reveals something about Cam Newton.

At the same time, the "outrage" over it is well overblown. Because who would have thunk that a football player may be a bit sexist when it comes to the sport of football.

At first I thought it was ridiculous that he lost a sponsorship over this, then I found out the sponsor was Dannon Yogurt. Well that explains it, yogurt is a woman product. Women need yogurt for their bowels to function properly. Women sit around having yogurt parties because of this. Its science.

Yea I actually like them blue & white helmets.

I'd like the helmets more if the entire ensemble matched

it's weird how they kept jerseys with gold, and I've never been uni snob guy, but they look so mismatched

Are there more tweets outside of the ones posted in that article?

I tried to explain earlier, the slur tweet was before Twitter had all the neat boxes to quote people with. You went to reply to a tweet on most apps and it would just take the entire original tweet with the original person's name as a part of it. That's why the tweet starts with the billnye @ name, it was his tweet. You can search it, or go to /r/NFL where the original tweet is posted. Underneath it are a bunch of tweets that looks exactly like hers because that's just the way Twitter used to work. It's not an original thought she had, she wasn't using the word. She was basically retweeting a parody account. She didn't say anything at all except for the laughing emoji and showing the tweet to a friend. Is that something she needed to apologize for? Was it the other tweets?

Either way, Cam issued a video apology. I haven't seen it, and no one in the comments has transcribed it so I don't know what he said but it's on Facebook.

Why not? Especially when we already do it anyway. It’s not like her tweets were said in private.

FWIW, I don’t care about seeing her punished(IE losing her job)for her stuff, that nobody would’ve known about if Cam didn’t “insult a woman” with his comment. But the whole “It was 4-5 years ago, guys” stuff I’ve been seeing....nah, people can miss me with that.
