Not just that, but onside kicks only happen around 2% of the time. On average, a team would be involved in an onside kick(either as the kicking or receiving team) 3 times a season, with an 80% chance the onside kick isn't even recovered by the kicking team.

Re: NFL Off Topic
They added a rule on all kickoffs that only allows a certain amount of players on each side of the kicker (dont remember the exact number, maybe 5 and 5) but it won't really affect normal kickoffs. We'll only see it come into play on onside kicks where teams used to stack one side of the field. (Personally I think this rule will actually increase the success rate of attempts).Comment

Yeah, **** good special teams and being able to change games by setting teams up with better field position.
Only adds to the robotic, cookie-cutter nature of the game. Down with game variance.
But hey, safety.Comment

So apparently the Patriots were really close to trading Gronk to Detroit the week of the NFL draft.Boston Red Sox

@mortreport
The Seahawks are considering a significant fine to Earl Thomas for conduct detrimental for twice missing practice. No final decision made. He's expected to play vs. Cowboys AND the Chiefs have emerged as a possible trade partner if Thomas is dealt this year, per sources.Comment

Which they can't even negotiate until after the season's over so it will be a gamble. Steelers would get a minimal return but could potential get a player in a position they need (defense) from a team that is heavy in talent at one spot.Comment

Why couldn't a new team negotiate a deal?Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
For players playing on a tender that deadline is passed. Had to be done before the season.
The Steelers can't even technically trade him until he signs the tender so it would be a sign and trade agreement.
He would be a rental.
(that doesn't mean there isn't a handshake deal, but nothing can be signed until after the season)Comment
