    Re: NFL Off Topic

NFL player is violent towards another person... heard that one before.

NFL covers it up despite having to handle these things often over the years since Ray Rice’s incident. Wow.

Incredibly, I think the NFL looks worse on this then Hunt. Why didn’t they suspend him from the jump? What, one more star suspended for abuse and they lose their tax exempt status? (Now that I think about it...).

Stupid league gonna have to answer for this yet again. That’s what you get dummies.

I get that the NFL should have handled this better. They probably saw it as a case in which charges were not warranted and no one suffered serious injuries. Still not sure if the NFL was aware of the video, but they probably should have been. I think merely acting aggressive towards the woman is enough to get a 2 game suspension. So I still think Hunt sits for this.

But the video is still not what people are making it out to be. There was one terrible moment, and in that moment, Hunt never touched the woman. He ran into guy that ran into the woman. The kick was condescending and rude, but it wasn't even a kick. He tipped her over and did not injure her.

And while nothing excuses violence against women (or anyone, really), this was not a case of a him trapping a woman and beating her. She was kicked out of his apartment and kept coming back. He should have gone back into his room apartment and called the cops.

Again, Hunt should never have walked out of his apartment. But that woman was outside his door for 30 minutes after they got kicked out. There is a reason the police did not press charges. Ottinger was reported for an assault herself.

But had Hunt just called the police himself and not walked into the hallway, he would be much better off. But this is not an incident like Ray Rice. It's nothing close.
Not following you on why it should be worse for Hunt? It's worse for Hunt because he's going to be suspended harshly because the NFL chose not to do it back at the start of the season as opposed to him missing the rest of the regular season and possibly the playoffs over this and the PR hit he personally is going to take because it comes on the heels of Washington doing what they did. He's going to be lumped into the Kapernick discussion now because they were trying to cover it up and it blew up in their faces again. There's nothing to feel sorry for him over as he should know better by now. If you're a professional athlete or any celebrity for that matter and still get caught up in stuff like this that's on you.

Yeah, this couldn't have come out at a worse time. One has to think that someone with this video saw what happened with Foster and the Redskins and decided to throw this grenade onto the NFL. Either way, it's way worse for Hunt in the aftermath of what happened. He's going to get the screws because of circumstances when he could've just served a 6 game suspension at the start of the year, dealt with the blow back and come back to finish off the year, do some PR work and most of the "football is religion" crowd will forgive him while those with a conscience will shake their heads but grudgingly understand it.

The NFL by covering this up has not only hurt themselves but unnecessarily made what was a bad situation far far worse. I don't feel bad for Hunt that way because as I said, he should know what to do as a public figure but at the same time I do hate that he's going to get far worse than what he would've initially have gotten especially when you consider the fact that this was some crazy white supremacist wackjob woman that caused all this.

Placed on the commissioner's exempt list, not clear if he'll play again this season or the playoffs.

Spencer Ware back to the starting lineup for the Chiefs.

So much I want to say.

                  But I won't...or can't.

I knew before I even watched the video.

These athletes just need to know better. And do better.

Wonder if he'll ever play in the NFL, again. Actually, no I don't. 100% his fault if he doesn't.

I still have questions. This isn't adding up. The Chiefs and NFL claiming that it's basically all on him. Chiefs saying he lied to them, NFL claiming they tried to get the video but the hotel wouldn't let them see it claiming a company policy to only turn the video over to police. The NFL allegedly contacted the police who also did not provide them with video. They "continued their investigation" despite no charges being filed and contacted the victims but they did not respond to multiple messages.

I just find it hard to believe that the NFL turned over every leaf trying to get to the bottom of this, the police did not help them, the hotel didn't help them, the victim didn't help them, Kareem lied to them, the video existed but nobody would allow the NFL or Chiefs to see it, the police apparently weren't charging anybody here because there was no crime and then the video that nobody wants to share magically ends up with TMZ almost a year later? That's awful convenient for the NFL's image.
