I’m going to miss Washington’s uniforms. Some of the best uniforms in the NFL, IMO. I get why they’re changing it, though.

I don't expect much change this year. At least for now I expect them to keep the same look just without the logo. This close to the season it would be too much to kick off a full rebrand.

My question is will they use a placeholder name and logo and then go full rebrand in the offseason or keep as much of the previous branding as possible and just use a name and logo that fits that branding.

Go the soccer route. FC Washington, Washington FC, or some other variation would be pretty cool.

Not going to happen. It would be pretty cool, but I don't think we will see that in the NFL. The other fanbases would make fun of them

It won't be Red Wolves or Red Tails, at least not for free.

A local business man went and trademarked almost every option a few days ago.

My money is on Warriors.

The Navajo Nation suggested Code Talkers to honor the Natives that helped win World War II. I like the idea, but Washington Code Talkers doesn't sound good. I hope they go that route though, with a Native American name that branches with the military.

It won't be Red Wolves or Red Tails, at least not for free.

A local business man went and trademarked almost every option a few days ago.

Said businessman will have to prove he's actually using and defending the trademarks in order for his claims to legally hold up. Trademark squatting generally doesn't work.

URL / social media handle squatting might be more effective nowadays, but even then, the platform holders I think will give away desired user names to large brands if and when they prove they hold the rights to an intellectual property with that same name.

Yes, because we'll now ignore their 80+ years of history and 3 Super Bowl titles because the name change.

I know it is hard for you to accept, since you keep whining and bringing up strawman arguments & false equivalencies, but the reality is the name needed to change long ago.

It is a change indigenous people have be asking for since the 1960's. Way before most, if not all, of us were born. The history, past success and accomplishments are important and deserve acknowledgement (no is asking to remove Gibbs, Green, etc from the Hall of Fame), but the name was chosen by a bigot based on a lie and false pretenses.

But, go ahead. I'll let you keep deflecting, pissing & moaning while you die on that hill.

Not really a tweet that can be embedded and you probably would have to see it anyway but it sounds like something is going on in Washington that goes far beyond the name change.
