There is much more going on at Redskins Park than a name change.

I’m told by a source there will be some more news that comes out tomorrow other than the name change.

      And it’s not good.

I did not get specifics, but get ready people.

Wonder if this is more than just the minority owners looking to sell their stake. Edit, Guess so, a subsequent tweet:
I’ve been told it has to do with the front office firings of Alex Santos and Richard Mann II.

Again no details, no specifics. Sorry people...I’m waiting just like you.

I didn't expect it to happen like this. I figured they would try to defend the name and drag their feet a bit just to see if people would move on to something else.

I wonder what the plan is moving forward as far as the new team identity, colors, and jersey.

I saw those firings today and thought the timing was curious.

Sure, because "hate" is always the answer.

And no, the two biggest names being bounced around locally (Red Wolves or Warriors) aren't being "hated" at all.

Because a lot of people (including folks with a ton of money & financial backing) have finally come to their senses. I'm sure some will still complain that the moment is finally drawing near, though.

Has the "Generals" name been ruled out? If so, too bad.....I think there is a good chance that they could out perform their basketball namesake.

Minor-to-non-existent concern in the grand scheme of things, but this is going to make for some interesting crunch time edits at EA Tibs. Changing logo, stadium, endzone, and potentially uniform art (to something we don't even know yet), and all mention of the team's nickname in the whole game a month and a half before release.

As fast as all of this went down, I really don't see the game launching with Washington's old branding.

I’m going to miss Washington’s uniforms. Some of the best uniforms in the NFL, IMO. I get why they’re changing it, though.

I hear the Washington Bullets name is available.

Well it sounds like they want to keep the team colors the same and the mid - bottom halves of the unis don't have the branding in question except for small lettering just above the number on the front (just the helmet with the logo). So maybe the unis won't end up changing much.

Go the soccer route. FC Washington, Washington FC, or some other variation would be pretty cool.
