What was it like before free agency? Does that mean there was just no free agent period? What happened once a player's contract was up?

Just no salary cap. Teams like the 49ers would be able to sign Revis, Harvin, etc etc. Jerry Jones could basically just buy a SuperBowl. Big market teams ran everything just like they do in baseball today.

A Detroit fan has started a petition to allow fans to draft picks for the Lions....

        http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100...ke-draft-picks

Stuff like this makes it feel like the Matt Millen era all over again. I really hope this is a joke and not fans starting to make digs at the managment. Last thing we need is for us to become a laughing stock again...

Wow...Mat Millen looks like Randy Cross.

Extra points for that (I hate that douchebag.)

The guy on the left in the first frame looks like an evil Justice. The way the suit is drawn makes it look like a Justice's robe.

First off, I hate all of you that liked that LambertandHam post.

Unrelated to that, former Bears linebacker, Hunter Hillenmeyer, wants athletes to connect with fans more through video games.

Former Chicago Bears linebacker Hunter Hillenmeyer has one goal: bridge the gap between gamer and professional athlete.

To accomplish his goal he co-founded OverDog. The company's iPhone app allows athletes to challenge their fans in different games on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Eventually the app will expand to become a hub for fans to play in tournaments and enjoy exclusive content such as athlete-created videos.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Not quite. Just owned the rights to that player within the league.

Absolutely no offense meant here when I ask, cause the Bears aren't too far off from it....but when did they ever stop being one?

Which is a distinction that didn't need to be made since the NFL was the dominant league and very few, if any, players left the NFL.

So wait....one playoff appearance in the last decade takes a team on joke status off of it? Even though they followed up that one appearance with a 4-12 season and still haven't won a playoff game in 21 years? Good to know.

They made the playoffs once in the last two years and that's all that matters for this subject. You can't call a team a laughing stock when they made the playoffs just two seasons ago...
