In Haskins’s defense, sending prostitutes to the other team to tire them out before the game is the kind of football IQ play only the GOATs are going to reach.

A journeyman capable backup with few stretches of starting is probably his ceiling imo.

More likely, he'll be out of the league in 2 years

What? We're judging that based on the train wreck of an organization he got drafted to?

I think it has more to do with his off-field "performance" and the reports of his lack of game preparation.

Lack of game preparation is something you can not have at the QB position (the most important position in professional sports, IMO).

As others have said, train wreck organization aside, his preparation and maturity is troubling. And his on field performance, notably his accuracy, doesn't help.

Whether or not its fair is a different argument, but I don't think its going out on a limb to say the signs point to his NFL career being very short. How often does a QB taken in the first round get cut mid season while still under his rookie contract? That speaks volumes

Hall of Fame running back Floyd Little passed away at 78.

Some may not remember, but he was played by the late Chadwick Boseman in the movie The Express about Ernie Davis, Boseman's first ever role in a feature film.

You can also ask if he was worthy to be drafted that high to begin with.

Here's an interview at High Point University with CNN's Wolf Blitzer where he talks about meeting Floyd Little in college and then meeting him 25 years later.

YouTube clip should start at 27:09 and gives a little bit of Wolf's background before he goes into the story. Overall time is a little over 5 minutes.

That draft was awful for QB so far after Kyler.

Daniel Jones and Dwayne Haskins were drafted high because they were QB’s.

Jones at 6 was for sure high (and we knew it at the time), but I don't think Haskins at 15 was high at all for his potential. WFT better hope Haskins doesn't sign somewhere and become productive.

Already seeing some suggest that Mia should draft another Qb and replace Tua like the Rosen-Murray situation. I think that situation is different because you have a new coach coming in and you want your own guy. But if Flores and crew feel that their is a QB there with higher potential, then make the move. I can see it from both sides. One side, be patient it could be like an Josh Allen situation. Where give him time to develop and learn, good OC and system built around strengths, and improve talent around him. But on the other side, he was throwing to 4 potential top 15 WRs in a prolific offense at Alabama. He's never going to have that type of advantage in NFL.

It's more of a do they feel Fields/Wilson have a higher ceiling than Tua

People take this roster building stuff to such an extreme. Let’s take a lottery ticket on the second best QB prospect in the draft? Good luck with that. If they found themselves in the perfect storm like Arizona did with Rosen-Murray-Kingsbury, sure. That alignment just isn’t here. It’s intriguing on paper, it’s asinine in reality with the way things are in Miami, even if they don’t make the playoffs.

I wanted NY to take Haskins over Jones at their position so believe me I thought high of Haskins. I actually thought being able to be behind Case Keenum would allow him time to learn the game behind a studious veteran since he slid to WSH in the mid teens. The way that thing has turned south so quickly (and not all his fault) and the way Jones hasn’t progressed in Year 2, it’s hard to look at that class and take away much positive. And that’s even in comparison to the Baker/Darnold/Rosen/Allen/Jackson draft that spans the spectrum of success. Like Rosen has been a total nothing in 3 years and I still would just as likely take a flyer on him as the Jones/Haskins duo. We overrate QB’s in the draft because of their importance to any football team. These guys weren’t true first round talents. We felt like this might be the case during the draft, and the results have only reaffirmed those feelings. (And because of circumstances, I’d probably still make the same picks those teams did — sometimes ya swing and miss. Big.)
