Re: NFL Off Topic 2012
The biggest issue in this instance IMO is the impact on other teams, which is why they were penalized. The structure of the contracts led to increased franchise and transition tags that other teams used (or couldn't use).

Bottom line the NFLPA sold out the two teams that for years have been putting lots of cash into the hands of lots of player so **** em. But its easy to see that 30 teams colluded.Moderator

Any "where are they now?" story that ends in jail is bad. This one's worse: former Jags great Jimmy Smith has been in jail for nearly two months, and no one noticed until today.
First Coast News reports that Smith has been in a Mississippi jail since late March, and is scheduled to be there until 2018, serving time on charges of cocaine possession and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Smith has had a series of arrests since retiring after the 2005 season, and recently moved back to his hometown of Jackson, Miss.
A mainstay of the Jaguars offense for a decade, Smith remains 16th on the NFL's all-time receptions list, and 17th in receiving yards.Originally posted by MoJust once I'd like to be the one they call a jerk off.Originally posted by MoYou underestimate my lazinessOriginally posted by Mo**** ya

That's a pretty cool looking stadium from those renderings.
As for Jimmy Smith...Wow, sad story there. I also liked him a lot when he played.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Just read that Chuck Muncie died from an apparent heart attack. He's before your time for most of you guys but he was a great weapon in the Air Coryell offense.

Re: NFL Off Topic 2012
My bad on giving that impression though
EDIT: Oh you gave me an opening to ponder about something I read earlier today about the Chiefs hiring Chris Ault as a consultant. Apparently Andy Reid is going to throw in the Pistol offense into his West Coast playbook. Ault will also consult on how to defend against the formation as well.Last edited by SPTO; 05-14-2013, 05:50 PM.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
